The slowly slanting setting sun plagued the crisp green expanse of the forest with a hauntingly bloody glow. All around, activity was abloom for they were all in preparation. They were fascinating to behold as they strode through the desolate clearing with a strong purpose in their eyes. Collectively, they were well trained for such events.

And she was among them, seemingly one of the youngest though truthfully the oldest. The Blue Pack were unique and upon the moment of their turning; they were preserved until the time of their death. The girl was stunning as she swished her way confidently throughout the sparsely lighted clearing, warm colour swirling in her brown eyes and raven curls swishing dauntingly down her back.

"Blackwood" the tone whistled, almost teasingly and the girl's sharp doe eyes flashed upwards to the figure looming lazily in the branches of a broad oak tree above. His long limbs flopped uncaringly- swishing in the air like the leaves on the trees. And he smirked, contented with the attention he had obtained.

"Chann" she hummed, oblivious to the mischievous glint that shone across his beady black eyes as he leapt from the branch and came tumbling to the earth, absorbing the force with a slight bob of his weight. "Is everything ready?"

"Yes yes; though, I personally think it's pointless Adolpha. We come out to the woods to turn so that we won't hurt people. Aconite will just weaken us" he shook his head in misery though otherwise shook the water bottle in his hand that sloshed, the purple flowers floating within plaguing the water with a blue hue. She rounded on him, her fragile features perfectly composed.

"Humans still camp in these woods, Chann... Besides, I don't need to explain myself to you. Are you Alpha? No. Are you Beta? No." she smirked, tapping his chest lightly, aware of the sour expression that swam across his handsome features as she clicked her tongue. "You're a Delta Scout, Chann... Know your place and go run a perimeter check. The last thing we need is Springbreakers having a campfire." Adolpha shrugged and turned on her heel, whipping the bottle from his fingertips in the process as she strode purposefully to the entrance of the cave where a pack of wolf brothers had congregated.

"The pup bothering you, sister?" her eyes fell on yet another arrogant smirk and Adolpha huffed profusely, ignoring the one member of the pack she was actually related to.

"Shut it, Conri" the Beta female beamed. "Before I deposit this bottle straight on your oversized head" she winked, Adolpha was the only one who could get away with speaking to their alpha like that- and that was just because she was his second. Conri and Adolpha were the only two members remaining from the original Blue Pack-- Almost all the others had perished over the test of time.

"Alright, listen up, Idiots" he piped up, ignoring his sister's last quip as he pulled her to stand beside him. All around, the pack brothers and sisters were quick to whip their gazes around to face them with eager anticipation in their eyes. For the newer members- there was only fear. Phasing was not pleasant though it got easier with time. "Let's keep it clean tonight, we don't want to be digging graves in the morning."

"I'm planning on trying my luck for Alpha this time around." a voice hollered out with a wink and rather than returning bitterly-- Conri laughed.

"Good luck Kurt, I wish you all the best. Just got to get through me and my sister first."

"Watch out for Chann tonight, Ado" Kurt nudged the Beta as the others resumed their preparations in the area of wood around. "Now that he's accepted you aren't his imprint-- He might try his luck at tearing your throat out instead."

"Chann is an idiot" Conri rolled his eyes, tugging his sister toward him to circle her in his arms somewhat protectively-- as if she even needed the help. "He knows she's not his imprint, he's known since that very first day."

"True. But the problem is; Adolpha is nearing a hundred and still hasn't found her imprint. She can't age until she does." Kurt reminded with a shrug. It was Blue tribe custom, the moment a member slaughtered their first human; their dormant werewolf gene was activated and they were preserved at the state they were in at their first full moon. To age; a wolf must meet their imprint and, although remaining preserved: they would perish when their soulmate did. For the lucky few- such as Conri, they found their imprint in another wolf. In doing so, they were immortal.

The air seemed to cool as they basked into silence, listening to the distant chirp of the birds. The time was fast approaching- the angle of the sun was evidence enough but after so many months and years; Adolpha, Kurt and Conri-- the three eldest wolves, they were ready. And they were now suspended in anticipation as they awaited their transition.

The busting sound of running was the thing to snap them from the murky milk of the rising moon and their similar brown eyes flashed around calmly as Chann came bounding through the treeline, hammering the earth at his feet violently in a bid to get to their leaders faster. Conri involuntarily took a step forward, eyes scanning the panicked expression of their fellow wolf brother and Chann gasped in a lung-full of air before he burst out rather suddenly;

"Vampires... They're coming."
