Adolpha huffed for the hundredth time that day as she made her way through the forest with the Volturi at her sides. She was tired, overheating in the Italian weather and aching from her fight with Chann. In fact, she wanted nothing more than to just flop onto the floor and sleep for years among the bracken and leaves.

"Let me carry you" Caius demanded, there being no question in his tone and she rounded her glare on him, instantly disapproving.

"No"

"At this rate, we won't get back to the castle until midnight and you've already wasted enough of my time." Caius persisted in annoyance before sighing and she looked over at him in instant alarm as he did so- Questioning the sudden change of sound and his smirk had her eyes widening.

"Don't you dare" but it was too late as the blond king grabbed her easily and threw her over his broad shoulder. The girl grunted, slightly winded before her anger grew at her new position and she was certain he was smirking about it. The sight of Aro's grin and raised eyebrow had her glaring at him too. "Put me down"

"No"

"Caius!"

"Adolpha!" he mocked in return and she groaned, rolling her eyes as she accepted her fate of sitting on his shoulder for the remainder of the ride. Though she yelped in surprise and jumped when a hand slammed straight into her bottom and she was completely appalled.

"What the hell was that for?"

"Don't roll your eyes at me, Adolpha" he reminded and she glared at his back as her curls swung around them and her head grew fuzzy from the constant upside-downess.

"How do you even know that? Do vampires have eyes in their backs now?" she groaned.

"No that's just me. Special perk" he teased and she knew for certain that he was smirking in victory, the thought of it annoyed her even further as he sped into a run and the wind rushed around them, making her eyes tear up and her ears pop.

The next moment; they were somewhere completely different and Adolpha swallowed her words as she looked around the entrance hall. It wasn't so much 'creepy emo dungeon' as 'Cinderella Princess Castle' and she was instantly in awe— though hid it well as she was acutely aware of the smug expression flashing across Caius' face as he finally placed her on her feet once more. In doing so, Adolpha couldn't help but notice how handsomely tall he was- she swallowed and promptly ignored her new finding as she trailed her doe eyes around the entrance hall.

"Please, follow me." Marcus nodded, face blank as he took charge, noticing the way Caius had stormed off though they soon reconnected when they met at the elevator- much to the blond king's disdain. Adolpha Blackwood hummed softly along to the elevator music as they proceeded- mostly because it annoyed Caius- the Blond king rolling his eyes in annoyance.

"Don't roll your eyes at me Caius" she smirked, bouncing slightly on her feet. After all that time of human life- Adolpha found enjoyment in irritating people. She knew that she was bound to Caius for the rest of her now-immortal life and therefore, she saw no reason to be nice- especially considering he was doing all he could to get on her nerves already. Soon enough, the elevator stopped- she had no idea whether they had gone up or down and the elevator seemed strangely out of place in the medieval castle but she followed the Kings nonetheless as they entered what could only be explained as a 'throne room'.

It was strangely lit, illuminating the darkness and inviting her in as she walked slowly-- Though the roundness of the room made it seem like it was endless as her doe eyes assessed it calmly. It once more defied her expectations with the large expanses of white marble that constructed it. It was only when she snapped herself out of her awed daze, that her eyes fell to rest upon the three kings who were sat side-by-side on their thrones with blank expressions as they watched her.

Adolpha couldn't resist the uncomfortable blush that painted her cheeks as she was scanned by their ruby eyes. And she knew at that moment how truly out of her depth she was. If they wanted to; the vampires could kill her right there on the spot and there was nothing she could do to stop them, she was merely relying on the fact that Caius cared enough to keep her safe. His blank eyes called into question the truth of that assumption. And she felt uncomfortable down to the flannel shirt and faded boots she wore.

But Caius saw something entirely different as he stared at where she stood in the centre of the Throne room; in the warm glowing light of the skylights, she looked utterly beautiful from her clothes down to her tired eyes and he absolutely hated that he felt that way about her at that moment. He wanted nothing more than to see her for what she was; the enemy, a werewolf which was the one thing he swore to completely obliterate. But she was so different to them in every single way; Adolpha even smelt better. Her scent was utterly mesmerising to him, the sweetest ambrosia but he had absolutely no desire to drink her blood as he watched her shift from one foot to the other, each movement completely human though utterly attracting to him. He kept his face unreadable- a perfectly preserved mask.
