Adolpha Blackwood sighed as she looked around the dungeon cell they had given to her. As her eyes struggled to see anything in the blackness, the gate behind her clanged shut and she whipped around to see Aro locking it calmly with a chain. Stepping closer, her doe eyes scanned the chain with careful consideration before she looked up at where the two other kings stood. Caius' expression was completely blank as she looked at him and she sighed as through the tiny window- the sky grew darker and darker.
Stepping back carefully, Adolpha crouched to grab the thick chains they had provided and her head tilted as she assessed them, eyebrows raised.
"Is this completely necessary?"
"We'd rather you didn't destroy the castle" Caius mused and she sighed as she cuffed her ankles and then her wrists securely into place.
"I take it you don't have any wolfsbane?"
"Wolfsbane?" Marcus frowned.
"Aconitum, also known as aconite, monkshood, wolfsbane, leopard's bane, mousebane, women's bane, devil's helmet, queen of poisons, or blue rocket" she listed all the names she could think of and Aro shook his head slowly. "Might be a good investment for next time" she hummed though her eyes continued to switch between the three kings and the window. "Are you all just going to stick around for the show."
"Why not?" Caius winked and she sighed before a groan slipped through her lips, her insides swirling as though they were trying to force themselves out of her body. The next noise from her body was an ear-piercing screech as her leg very sickeningly snapped and contorted in the wrong direction. Caius involuntarily took a step forward, eyes wide though the extension of Aro's hand kept him back. "Why is she screaming? She didn't scream last time" he called over her screeches,
"It hurts more when she is away from the pack. That is why they all gather for the full moon." Aro explained smoothly though his gaze remained on the wolf who swallowed her screeches now even as sickening snaps continued to be heard through the dank dungeon. Similarly to last time, it was not long before a great grey wolf looked at them from beyond the bars. Aro couldn't help the grin that split across his lips at the sight of the creature. Though the beta wolf was instantly alarmed, eyes scanning over the bars around her.
"Why can't they just retain rational thought?" Caius groaned, jumping slightly as the wolf let out a mighty howl into the air, a sound that chilled him.
"If anybody didn't know that there was a wolf in the castle. They certainly do now" Marcus informed in a calm voice as he watched the distress of the wolf who was now pacing in confused, agitated circles. They did not like being contained, that much was sure though she was now knotting herself up with the chains. The sight of the tight chains only made the wolf cry out a second howl.
"Athena" Caius acknowledged with a sigh and looked over at the wolf once more before vanishing. The second he disappeared, the wolf startled; eyes scanning the dungeon for him though he was now long gone. Eyes darkening in anger, the wolf stalked toward the bars and the two kings exchanged a glance as they stepped back.
The wolf was angry now, that much was clear from the second she slammed her great body viciously into the bars of the cage, teeth snapping in annoyance and confusion.
"Will that chain hold?" Marcus frowned.
"I certainly hope so" Aro retorted as the wolf threw herself at the door again. "Trust Caius to vanish now that we need him"
"I haven't vanished, I just thought it best to calm Athenodora before she comes marching on down here to slay the wolf" the blond king in question chuckled as he returned though his eyes instantly widened when he saw the vicious anger of the wolf. "Adolpha" he breathed and the wolf whipped her head around to face him, staring with large eyes brightening by the second. "It's okay" Caius promised and both the brothers were very clearly shocked by the expression of warmth that he portrayed at that moment as he slowly approached the cage. The wolf simmered, lying down slowly and he nodded as she did, following her so that he was crouched on just the other side of the gate from her.
"Aww, our Caius has finally fallen in love" Aro beamed teasingly and Caius snapped his glare around to face him.
"Shut up, Aro. It's a dog."
"A wolf that so happens to also be your soulmate, Caius." Marcus reminded and the blond man scoffed as he pulled his body up to stand straight once more, eyes staring down at the grey beast that blinked at him in return. "Why do you keep self-destructing your own relationship, Caius?"
"I don't have a clue what you're talking about Marcus" Caius lied smoothly.
"Every time your bond seemingly gets stronger with her- you go and ruin it. Why?"
"Because I have a wife who I am very much in love with." he shrugged.
"That never stopped you before, Caius" Aro mused and the blond man glared at him before leaning against the wall as they waited.
"I am going now" Marcus snapped and vanished, Aro grinning before going to do the same.
"Enjoy your evening, Brother"
"Whatever Aro" he waved him off and Aro was gone in the next second. Turning his red eyes around to the wolf, he glared at her, making her whimper as she rested her large head on her paws. "Allow me to just reiterate the fact that I hate you. You filthy dog"
Though he stayed for the remainder of the night and as the sun began to rise slowly, he pulled his suit jacket off calmly and waited, when the wolf became a girl once more, he was quick to hand it to her and she graciously accepted the clothing to hide her modesty as she released herself from her prison.
"Right" Caius snapped. "Let's take you back to your room. I have business to attend to" he coughed and she rolled her eyes before smirking when she noticed what she had done. Caius glared at her for a moment as she stumbled sleepily toward the door and she yelped as his hand slapped easily onto her naked behind. Adolpha turned and blinked at him, the king returning with an innocent smirk.
"...Ow" was her very delayed reaction before he just chuckled and they were on their merry way. His beautiful soulmate was now a human for another month.
