As we walk towards our class, I notice that Alvin keeps glancing at Scarlette. I don't blame him because she is indeed beautiful. We enter our class and sit down. The last class also goes smoothly and luckily we are not given any assignment. The final bell rings and all four of us pack our bags and head outside.
Alvin walks with Scarlette and is engages her in conversation. I hadn't realized that Alvin was indeed a sweet guy maybe because my mind has always been occupied by Cedric's thoughts. I have tried to get away from that thought for over 3 years now but I have never succeeded. That was the only reason why I never liked anyone else in high school.
"Hey Chari, where are you going?" Scarlette calls after me.
I stop and turn around. I didn't realized that I had just walked past my car. I walk back towards my car.
"Chari?" Alvin asks looking at Scarlette.
"That is her nickname" she replies smiling.
"Do you have one then?" he asks again.
"Yes, Essie" she replies with her dazzling smile.
"Oh!" he says.
Adele gets into her car and waves goodbye as she drives out of the parking lot.
"See you tomorrow" Alvin says and walks towards his car.
"Is that his car?" Scarlette asks as Alvin gets into his car.
"Yes" I reply and we get into my car.
"What shall we do today?" I ask her as we drive out of the parking lot.
Alvin drives past us and waves. Scarlette seems to be lost in her thoughts.
"Hey" I say again.
"Oh! sorry. What were you saying?" she asks looking at me.
"What shall we do today?" I ask again.
"Let's go shopping" she says smiling.
"Okay. I will call mom and tell her we won't be coming until 4" I say and she agrees smiling.
I call mom and tell her that we won't be coming home until 4. She tells me to enjoy and hangs up. We decide to go to River Park Shopping, an outdoor mall just 18 minutes drive from FPU. As we enter the mall, Scarlette looks really happy. I park my car and we get out of the car and walk towards the entrance.
We visit different shops and Scarlette tries a lot of dresses and a few tops. We buy similar kind of dress and she buys a pair of red high-heeled pumps and I buy a pair of gray snickers and black high-heeled pumps. We roam around a while and have espresso and a burger each.
We finish doing our shopping and walk out. We get into my car and drive out.
"Did you like the mall?" I ask her.
"I loved it" she replies smiling.
I check the time. It is half-past three and I am glad that we will be home by 4. We drive home and Stefan comes to open the gate. I park my car and we get out.
"How was the shopping?" he asks the two of us.
"Brilliant" we both say and laugh.
We walk inside and sit on the couch.
"How was the shopping dears?" mom asks from the kitchen.
"It was brilliant aunt" Scarlette replies.
"We have got something for you" she says and takes out a package.
We have bought mom a black dress which is really pretty. It is not that long and has no sleeves.
"Really" mom says coming out of the kitchen and walking towards us.
Scarlette gives her the package and mom opens it.
"You like it?" we both ask.
"I love it" she replies smiling.
