I know that asking Alvin about his feelings directly might end up being too offensive. That is the reason why I asked Scarlette to give me a week's time. I will observe Alvin carefully then only I will ask him.

A WEEK LATER
"Essie, wake up" I say getting out of the bed.
She doesn't respond, so I walk towards her side and gently caress her hair.
"Wake up sleepy head" I say once again.
She opens her eyes slowly and gives a weak smile.
"I have a severe headache" she says.
I touch her forehead and by the heat, I believe she has got a slight fever.
"Are you still worried about what Alvin will say?" I ask her.
"Not exactly but I am a bit nervous about it" she replies.
"Don't you trust me?" I ask her again.
"Yes, I do. I am a bit unsure whether this is right or not" she replies.
"If you truly like him then don't hesitate. If you hesitate now, you will never be able to confess or face him" I say trying my best to comfort her.
"Okay Chari" she says smiling.
"You take rest, everything will be fine" I say and get dressed.
I head downstairs and enter the kitchen. Mom is sitting at the table, sipping coffee.
"Where is Essie?" she asks as I walk towards the counter.
"She has severe headache and slight fever" I say and pour myself a cup of coffee.
I sit down and sip my coffee and when I look up, mom is looking at me.
"Did you go to bed late last night?" she asks.
"No mom, we went to bed earlier then usual" I reply taking another sip.
"Has dad reached his headquarter?" I ask.
"Yes. He called last night but you had already gone upstairs" she says.
"Where is Stefan?" I ask again.
"He said he has his basketball training this morning, so he left early" she replies.
Cedric was really good at playing basketball at school. He was in fact the basketball team captain. I don't know if he still plays basketball or not. I have not asked him yet. We haven't had time to talk since we sorted out the misunderstandings.
"I will go and check how Essie is feeling" mom says and it brings me back to reality.
"Yes mom. I will get going" I say and get up and place my cup on the sink and walk out of the kitchen.
"Have a nice day sweetie" she says climbing the stairs as I walk towards the door.
I think 25 minutes is enough for me to think how exactly I will talk to Alvin. As I drive into the parking lot, I see that Alvin is standing in front of his car as usual. He appears quite lost, so he doesn't notice when I drive past him. As I drive further, I see Cedric's car parked and I can't help smiling.
I park my car and grab my bag from the backseat and get out. Alvin finally looks up and walks towards me.
"Morning Charlotte" he says smiling.
"Morning Alvin" I say returning his smile.
"Didn't Scarlette come today?" he asks.
"No. She is suffering from severe headache and slight fever" I say sadly.
"Oh" he says and his smile changes into disappointment.
"She has a message for you" I say.
