The boys are going to the BRITs tonight. You were sitting with Jungkook as he was getting dressed watching him cover his beautiful body with unnecessary garments. That body is too extravagant for it to be blemished with clothes. You stared for too long at his body and sighed."Stop staring, your eyes will fall out of their sockets." He said buttoning his shirt.
"Not my bad, though." You said standing up so you could reach him.
"I know, I'm too sexy for your eyes to resist." He smirked. You hugged him from the back and he turned around to face you. His fingers struggling with the button. "I can't think of a reason for people to find me good looking. Like, no matter how much you say it or the fans say it, I never quite get it."
"It's hard to look us in the mirror and like what we see. That's why the only mirrors that matter are the eyes of those who love us." You said helping him with the stubborn button without breaking eye contact.
"Can't you just come with me?" He said holding your hands close to his chest.
"I wish I could. But, you know, protocol." You air quoted protocol.
"Yeah." He said after he let go of your hand and kissed you on your forehead. "What're you going to do when I'm there?"
"Well, I'll watch you from here, for sure." You said as he turned around to put his bowtie on. "After I was on a meeting with Bang pd Sejin suggested that we watch it together. He's been friendly, lately." You said trying to see Jungkook's reaction.
"Oh, yes, he's friendly with everyone. That's why everyone loves him." He didn't seem to be bothered. You kind of felt stupid for thinking that maybe Sejin was interested in you.
"He's a funny man." He added as he wore the suit. "Now I have to go." He said kissing you on the cheeks.
"Wish me luck, honey." He said as he ran out of the room. When he did, you sat down on the bed playing with your fingers.
The tour is over in 3 weeks and it hasn't hit Jungkook yet. You didn't know why it felt bad that it was. You still haven't decided on which direction you'd go. Mr. Bang's contract is still up for you to sign any time. Your head wasn't giving the leverage for you to reach the decision of where to go.
It felt like you got an eviction notice and you'll end up homeless after. Even though you had many job offers and projects awaiting you. Something lingered at the back of your head, with a shaking head and sounds of tongue smacking. It was staring at your malfunctioning brain as it tried to reach a verdict. You had a 3 weeks break after the tour so it felt useless to strain.
Later, you got dressed and went out for Sejin's room. You don't know why he didn't accompany them but you were too busy thinking about everything else, it didn't quite stop you. You knocked the door and he opened with a smile.
"Come in! Welcome!" He let you in to find the table holding a tray of expensive cheeses and cold cuts. The wine was strategically placed in between the trays. You loved how it smelled in the room.
"Thank you, sir!" You jumped in trying to curb your appetite from jumping at the food.
Your stomach feels like a bottomless pit that accepts anything and everything. You don't have an extra stomach for dessert. You had a magical stomach that is never satisfied. "I'm so excited to see them perform." You said as the TV was running. You sat down.
"Oh, yes, me too." He said, "it never gets too old with every performance. Every award feels like their first and I always feel like a proud dad." Something about his laidback attitude made your tensed body let go.
"It's like taking your kids for their first dance recital." You said in understanding.
"Exactly!" He said as he held the bottle of wine. You nodded as he silently asked you whether you wanted a glass or not. As he was handing it, he sat down right next to you.
"I never knew I'd love this job this much." You admitted.
"I remember when I first talked to you about it when we met back at the shooting studio you were at."
It's right. Sejin met you and was the one who suggested you the job in the first place.
"You were too hesitant and you fidgeted for a while. I knew you'd come around though. Having you on the team was considered a win on its own. I love your work."
"Thank you, sir." You took a sip of your wine. Awkwardly trying to look at the TV without it being known that you're avoiding his gaze. "I'm glad I got here." You smiled with Jungkook at thought.
"Me, too. Any news about your new contract?" He asked.
"I don't know. I really love working here. I'm emotionally attached to here. But, I want to work on new projects and movies. I want to get my name further out into the filmmaking industry." You opened up with things you didn't mention with Jungkook.
"I have Hollywood movies I'm asked to assist on and many other projects. I really want to stay. The struggle is real."
"It'll always be a pleasure to have you on the team. You're such a big talent, though. Losing you to other projects won't feel like an actual loss if it means I have to watch your art on the screens." Something inside of you twitched.
'Cathy, remember what Jungkook said. He's just friendly.'
The sitting got way too comfortable you ended up crossing your legs on the couch and laughing. Watching the boys red carpet interviews and commenting on them with Sejin was a pleasure.
He, however, seemed to be a heavy drinker. By the time the boys' names were called out for winning the awards they got nominated for you jumped around. Sejin, surprisingly, did too.
You ended up hugging each other and that's when it got too weird for you. When he broke the hug he kept staring at your lips. At least that's what you thought the staring was. You brushed it off like it was nothing.
"I think I'll go now, sir. I'll be waiting for Jungkook." You said going towards the door.
"Jungkook was faster than me." You heard him mumbling. You whipped your head around and looked at him sulking on the couch. You asked for no further explanation. Running was the best thing to do now.
"He was a day early. Just one day early." He kept on mumbling.
"Sir, you need to sleep." You said as you tied your shoelaces and ran for the door.
"Why him?" He said standing up and coming after you. "Why did I have to wait when I could've asked you the very first time I saw you? I'm stupid!"
"Sir. I have to go." You said opening the door and trying to get out. He held your hand and pulled you in.
"Will it matter if I stole a kiss from you? At least get a taste of what I snoozed off on."
He was too drunk to land a kiss on your mouth. He kissed your cheeks. This felt too juvenile from a man like Sejin. You tore your hands away from his grip and pushed him away.
"Sir, I'll consider this a drunken mistake." You said as you got out.
"No one will believe you if you tell what happened here. So don't bother." He shouted as you ran to the elevator.
'Too friendly' my ass, Jungkook. You thought.
His words sounded like some kind of a threat. You weren't intending to tell anyone, anyways. However, this felt like a challenge. You didn't like to be challenged but you had to stay silent. Sober him won't probably remember this. He was too dazed by the alcohol.
