the bell rang alarmingly throughout the whole school, signalling the end of literature class.

soobin quickly gathered his belongings before scurrying out of the stuffy literature classroom. he had indeed, slept throughout the entire lesson.

his walking came to a halt when a shorter figure stopped in front of him. it was the same girl he bumped into and the same girl from his literature class.

"hi soobin, i'm aera! this is jeno and jaemin," the brunette girl introduced herself and the two boys standing by her sides.

"okay. noted," soobin bluntly replied as he pushed past them to get to his next class.

he seriously didn't understand what the girl wanted from him. he clearly didn't know who she was or who her friends were. in fact, soobin didn't want to know.

his walking came to a halt again as aera ran in front of him. soobin sighed in frustration as he felt all eyes on him and girl standing in front of him.

"okay soobin, join us for recess later!" aera exclaimed with a grin on her face.

as much as soobin didn't like watching smiles fade, he didn't like the idea of socialising.

"i'm sorry but no. excuse me but i have to get to class," soobin replied as he blatantly pushed past aera, causing her to stumble.

by then, whispers and snickers had encircled around aera, who stood in her place in shock.

"come on aera, let's go before bitches start barking," jaemin stated as he shot glares at the obnoxious students who were gossiping loudly.

"how do you know soobin anyways?" jeno asked innocently, sparking curiosity in jaemin as well.

"he bumped into me this morning,"

aera internally wanted to scream at soobin for turning her down. the moment aera decides to make new friends, they blatantly turn her down.

aera only had jaemin and jeno throughout her 17 years of living. she refused to befriend anyone else, fearing that they'd take advantage of either her brains or beauty.

jaemin and jeno noticed how down the brunette girl looked and placed their arms around her comfortingly.

aera shook out the rejection she had just faced and decided to ignore the negative feelings that had ignited in her heart.
