"do you think she'll be able to move on?" jaemin asked jeno and mark worriedly as they walked home together after sending aera home.

"let's hope she does," jeno sighed heavily.

"i feel responsible," mark suddenly blurted out.

jeno and jaemin looked at their friend with raised brows.

"what do you mean?" jaemin asked, his eyebrows furrowed.

"well, because seokmin's my brother. i didn't believe aera last year and now history's repeating itself," mark said sadly but jeno only slung his arm around mark's shoulders.

"and you did something today. aera's heartbroken now but you stood up against seokmin," jeno said looking at mark proudly.

"fucking finally, mark lee isn't a pussy anymore," jaemin muttered earning a kick in the shin from mark.

"ow!" jaemin grumbled and glared at mark.

the three boys soon bursted out in laughter with a limping jaemin.

"we're proud of you mark. i'm sure aera is as well,"

mark looked down shyly and felt his heart at ease again. finally, he did something right for himself as well as for the people he cherishes.

"all we have to do now is play cupid all over again," mark sighed, earning groans from jeno and jaemin.

"please, i'm helping others get together while i'm still single. someone date me already what the fuck," jeno grumbled but jaemin took this as the opportunity to show his charms.

"lee jeno!" jaemin teased as he leaned to kiss jeno on the cheek, only for jeno to kick his shin in panic.

"CAN YOU GUYS STOP KICKING ME WHAT THE FUCK?"

"okay, man's absent," ms kim, the literature teacher muttered to herself as she took the class attendance.

aera turned her head sadly to soobin's empty desk, her heart aching whenever she thought about him.

instinctively, she discreetly used her phone to text soobin but was reminded that he had blocked her.

aera needed soobin back in her life but it wasn't her decision to make. although it was hard for her to accept, she just had to.

the only thing that scared her is when he's out of her reach. for somebody with a strong and cold facade, soobin was fragile; physically and mentally.

only aera knew that.

especially when he was sick, that's what worried aera the most.

the thought of him puking his guts out scared aera as she anxiously scrolled through her contacts, finding a miracle worker who could help her.

that's when her finger stopped scrolling, a glimmer of hope in her eyes as relief took over her.
