soobin got up from his bed and walked out of his bedroom. he looked around for yeonjun but realised aera was the only one there, just as confused as he was.

"you should eat," aera said as she gestured towards the bowl of soup on the table.

soobin nodded and scratched the nape of his neck awkwardly.

"you should go," soobin muttered but aera heard it and felt a tug in her heart.

"y-yea i should. will you be okay?" aera asked, concern but soobin only waved her off.

"i'm fine alone," soobin replied coldly but regretted it as soon as he saw aera's expression drop.

"i'm sorry again," aera genuinely said as she tried to keep a pleasant expression on.

soobin could see right through her and felt his gut feeling telling him to make her stay and hear her out.

but his emotions took over him again as he looked away and remained quiet as aera left his house.

finally closing the door behind her, aera felt her tears spill out as she tried to keep herself composed.

she lost the boy she loves. history repeated itself and she could only blame herself.

3 months later

soobin sat emotionlessly at the back of his class again. he was back to being alone and he didn't know whether to be happy or not.

it's been 3 months since aera and soobin had broken up and soobin still didn't know what to feel.

a part of him told him that he made the wrong decision but he couldn't bring himself to listen.

meanwhile, the golden trio had expanded with the addition of yeonjun and mark.

the four boys were worried about aera, seeing that she was still not over soobin.

"hey aera! do you wanna buy bread with me?" yeonjun asked during their recess break.

aera sad eyes suddenly lit up at the mention of her favourite food.

"i'm assuming that's a yes," jeno rolled his eyes but smiled at the sight of aera's hint of happiness.

"it's always a yes for bread but not for coffee somehow," jaemin huffed out, earning an offended look from aera.

"bread is sacred," aera deadpanned causing the four boys to laugh.

"whatever you say anpanman," jaemin retorted back sassily with aera dramatically gasping.

amidst one of their happy moments with aera, mark's eyes wandered in search for soobin.

clearly, none of them heard each other out and mark certainly didn't want soobin to end up making the wrong judgments like he did.

"earth to morkus? are you coming with us or not?" yeonjun waved his hand annoyingly in front of mark's face.

"you guys go ahead, i forgot something in class," mark acted but sent a wink to yeonjun, signalling he was going to do something important.

yeonjun immediately got it and nodded his head.

"mark, you can't wink for shit," yeonjun pointed out causing the golden trio to laugh after witnessing their interaction.
