first period ended on a sour note. aera was unhappy that soobin didn't show up to class.

was he by any chance avoiding her after yesterday? was she weird? was she not appealing?

her thoughts were disrupted as she felt someone roughly push past her.

"watch where you're going aera," mark spat out and continued his way.

aera rolled her eyes as she bent down to pick up her scattered books and worksheets. with students buzzing past her, no one offered to help her.

that was until the familiar scent of a certain someone crouched in front of her and gathered her books.

"hello aera," soobin smiled, his dimples popping out causing aera's heart to melt.

"look who finally showed up!" aera sarcastically said as she played off the smile that desperately wanted to form.

soobin chuckled and stood up, carrying aera's books.

"come on, i'll walk you to class,"

aera felt her heart thumping erratically as she stood up from her crouched position. she nodded her head and walked alongside the tall boy.

"what's mark's problem with you?" soobin questioned curiously.

"some things just happened in the past," aera simply responded as she looked down.

soobin internally sighed, his curiosity killing him as he was in a shaky position between two individuals.

"i'll tell you on our lunch date? that is, if i have established my trust with you," aera quietly said causing soobin's ears to perk up in hope.

the bell rang indicating the end of the school day.

soobin patiently waited for aera outside her class. sure enough, the petite girl walked out of her classroom wearing his sweater. soobin couldn't help but find her adorable in his clothes but quickly shook the thought away.

"you seem to love that sweater a lot," soobin commented causing aera is turn her head away shyly.

"it smells like you,"

"stop that aera,"

"stop what?" aera looked at him confused as she furrowed her brows.

"stop being cute," soobin winked as he started walking away from the flustered girl.

aera quickly caught up with soobin, muttering to herself to refrain herself from getting shy.

the pair made their way to a nearby café in comfortable silence.

soobin was thinking whether he should bring up mark while aera was internally squealing to herself. it had been a while since aera went on a date and she was contented that it was soobin.

"so, tell me about yourself soobin," aera asked as she innocently sat in front the dimpled boy once they had reached the café.

"well, i study to kill time, i find comfort in being alone, i love bread and my bed," soobin simply stated.

aera blinked a few times as she was still unable to comprehend what she had just heard.

"do you not have any friends?" aera asked pitifully.

" i had a friend but we just don't gel as well as we did before," soobin shifted slightly at the thought of yeonjun.

"what happened?"

"our differences happened. what about you? what's up with you and mark?" soobin changed the topic causing aera to clear her throat.

"we used to date, that's all that there is to it," aera replied solemnly.

soobin rose an eyebrow but decided that he was tired of chasing after their sob story and shrugged it off.
