aera was also the first sight soobin woke up to. she was dozing off softly as she sat on the floor, leaning against the bed for support with her hand intertwined in soobin's.
soobin woke up feeling slightly better, the aches and pains in his body were gone.
he looked over at the sleeping girl and felt his heart melt at how angelic she looked. a blush crept up on his face once he noticed their intertwined hands.
"aera," soobin gently shook the girl awake as she groggily lifted her head from the bed.
realisation dawned upon her once she noticed her hand in soobin's, her once tired eyes were now full of alarm.
"uh, i'm sorry! good morning! wait, good afternoon?" aera panicked as she let go of soobin's hand before standing up.
"good afternoon," soobin nodded, a smite threatening to form at aera's flustered state.
"i cooked fish cake soup! with ramen? i don't know, i can't cook for shit," aera rambled on as she made her way to his kitchen.
soobin got up from bed and followed the rambling girl quietly, sitting down as he watched her move around frantically.
"take your temperature while waiting," aera ordered as she held five loaves of bread in her small arms.
soobin chuckled quietly before doing exactly what he was told. soobin watched aera set up the table, admiring how adorable she looked at that moment.
"37.6°c"
"phew, thank god it went down," aera exasperated once she finally finished setting up the table.
"no, i'd thank you for taking care of me," soobin mumbled loud enough for aera to hear before digging in to eat.
aera smiled softly in response before digging in as well, the room filled with comfortable silence.
-
once the pair had finished eating and cleared the table, soobin paced back and forth in his bathroom while brushing his teeth as aera awkwardly sat on the floor.
"just talk to her soobin," he thought to himself, frowning at himself in the mirror as he brushed his teeth somewhat aggressively.
the comfortable silence that filled up the room was replaced by both individuals nervously waiting for one another to do something.
"i guess i'll get going then," aera sighed sadly as she stood up to gather her things on top of soobin's study table.
soobin quickly finished washing up and saw aera preparing to leave. he stood with hesitation, words unable to flow out comfortably.
aera wanted him to say something, to explain everything that happened between them. she felt uneasy but felt sure around him.
to be frank, she was getting frustrated with his silence.
"soobin you idiot, say something asshole-" aera thought to herself, her back facing him as she aggressively shoved her things into her backpack.
"you cowar-"
aera's thoughts were cut off when she felt a pair of arms encircling around her waist, soobin's head nuzzling into her neck.
"i'm sorry for everything aera, i'm so sorry for hurting you like that," soobin cried quietly as he hugged her.
aera froze in her spot, the silence that encircled the pair allowed them to hear each other's heartbeats.
"i was selfish and heartless when i first took the bet. over time, i never expected myself to fall for you but i did," soobin continued on as aera listened intently, her tears threatening to spill out.
"i don't expect you to forgive me, but please know i did love you and that i still do,"
