"ouch," aera winced in pain.

the current situation being that she was sitting in his living room with soobin rubbing ointment on her cuts and bruises.

aera clenched her jaw at the thought of minji and her minions. she desperately wanted to scream at them but was too timid to do so.

"why'd you let them do that to you? you should've stood up for yourself," soobin muttered as he finished treating the battered girl.

"i can't,"

soobin shook his head and headed into his room. he found it ridiculous that the girl allowed such things to happen to her.

"why do they hate you so much?"

"why do you keep asking questions?" aera snapped but regretted it quickly as she hung her head low.

soobin looked at aera and felt his heartstrings slightly tug. she looked so timid and fragile yet she was able to hold up on her own.

"are you hungry? i can get some food down by the shop houses while you rest here. i can't cook for shit by the way," soobin simply asked as he shook off aera'a previous reaction.

aera looked up at the towering boy and felt her heart skip a beat. she wasn't used to such kindness from men.

"i-i can go instead? it's your house anyways, i feel rude for burdening you," aera muttered under her breath, only for soobin to laugh in response.

"you can barely walk aera. i'll go,"

aera sighed in defeat as she was unable to get out of the awkward feeling she instilled upon herself.

"um, your uniform's all messed up. i have a sweater on my bed for you to wear — i mean, if you want to wear it?" soobin rambled as he scurried around his home in search for his wallet.

"soobin, your holding your wallet," aera snickered at the boy's obliviousness.

soobin looked at his hand and sure enough, was holding his wallet. a blush crept up on his face and he quickly left the house while muttering to himself.

aera giggles at his mannerisms, finding him rather adorable despite his cold facade. she stood up slowly, constantly wincing at the pain she felt all over her body as she walked towards soobin's room.

to her surprise, his room wasn't messy. aera stood in awe at the calm simplicity of the room and how neat everything was. she picked up the grey sweater on the bed and pulled it over herself.

his sweater was oversized due to the fact that soobin was a tall guy and she was a petite girl. it was as if his sweater had consumed half of her.

aera found a peculiar yet comforting smell of vanilla and tobacco lingering on his sweater. she was taken aback as to whether or not soobin smoked heavily.

aera sat on his bed tiredly, pain suddenly shooting throughout her whole body. she felt numb but hurt. she was genuinely tired of the same bullshit she had to face everyday in school.

she lay horizontally at the foot of his bed and allowed her tears to fall. not only did it hurt on the outside, it hurt more when she tried to mask her emotions in front of everybody.

no one knew what she went through and all the labels given to her stung badly. aera hugged herself as she sobbed quietly to herself and unknowingly allowed her heavy eyelids to shut.
