18. romance at the beach

Anne smiled brightly as she quickly removed her trainers, holding them in one hand, as she ran down into the sandy bay. She could hear Gilbert's light chuckles as he tumbled down after her.

Waisting not a second Anne pulled off her dress to reveal her matching black bra and pants set. Then she proceeded to run as fast as as she could towards the sea.

Gilbert watched her in awe. She looked so radiant as she ran down to the sea, her hair whipping in the wind, her eyes shining with happiness. She was absolutely beautiful.

Gilbert debated taking off his clothes even though it was hot it was still november and slightly breezy. As he watched Anne splash around he realised what he would miss out on and without a second thought he undressed and sprinted towards Anne.

He splashed into the sea and ran up to Anne, wrapping his arms around her waist as he spun her around. She laughed excitedly.

As soon as he put her down she splash him fiercely, her eyes glimmering in mischief.

"Oh that's how it's gonna be, huh?" Gilbert cocked his head as a cheeky grin erupted from his lips.

Then the war began. They were splashing each other consistently and even sometimes Gilbert would pick Anne up and throw her into the water. Although Anne got her revenge by pushing him over, Anne is much stronger than she looks.

Anne pushed Gilbert into the water, out of breathe at this point in time. She laughed/panted as he splashed face first into the blue ocean.

Anne looked up and admired the sight. She saw how the sun was setting in the vast blue watery landscape and how it made the water glisten as it's golden rays danced upon the waves. The beach really was the most astounding place.

With her head in the clouds, Anne didn't realise Gilbert was coming.
Then she felt a grip on her waist lifting her up so she was landscape in the sky, her arms flailed about in shock.

Looking down she could see Gilbert below her giggling.
"why are we recreating dirty dancing right now gilbert?" she laughed in confusion as he pulled her back down to face him, his hands still firmly planted on her waist.

"because i just felt like it." He smiled as he pulled Anne in closer.

Their heartbeats increased drastically. As they looked at each other.
Then suddenly they heard a faint click sound. It snapped them out of their trance and they smiled shyly at each other.

"How about we get changed and then we sit down on the beach and watch the sunset?" Gilbert suggested and Anne's smile returned to her immediately.

"I'd love that."

As they sat and watched the sunset and felt beyond happy. She lay her head on Gilbert's chest as he wrapped a protective arm around her shoulder. They watched peacefully as the sun set over the sea. It was beautiful.

Anne and Gilbert kept sneaking glances at one another, both unaware of the other looking at them too. They were so obliviously clueless, and they didn't even know.

They were so wrapped up in the butterflies that were swarming round both their bellies that they didn't notice another click sound, erupt from not far behind them.

As Gilbert drove Anne home, they sang along to the old jonas brothers albums. Anne was sure she hadn't ever had so much fun in her life.

Once they reached Green Gables Gilbert hopped out of the car and went around to open the door for Anne, he offered her a hand and she shook her head.

"i can get out on my own." she smiled, not meaning it to come across mean at all.

Gilbert smiled looking down at her.
"i know you can."

They stared at each other for a long long time. Until a bird squawking in the distance snapped them back to attention.

"Thanks for today Gilbert, it was really fun and i had such a good time." She beamed at him.

"Your welcome Anne-girl, i had a great time too. Don't worry this won't be our last little adventure, i'll make sure of that."
They both giggled lightly.

Then Anne did something neither of them expected. She embraced Gilbert.

Gilbert's heart beat even wilder when he realised Anne was hugging him, and he wrapped his arms around her too.

After the hug they were both blushing brightly and Anne smiled and waved at the boy as she ran up to Green Gables.

However when Gilbert got home, something dreadful awaited him. As he looked through his social media his heart stopped.

"oh FUCK."
