Avonlea
Woods
8:10am

Anne wandered happily through the woods, quietly mumbling to herself as she went.
Strand bits of hair slipped out out of her tight iconic plaits as she walked in the breeze. She sighed, nature's so beautiful.

Anne snapped out of her thoughts when she heard a twig snap ahead of her,her eyes immediately darted up to see him.

He was tall, with blonde scruffy hair and a mean smirk plastered on his face.
Billy Andrews.

"Hey Anne." He said in a patronising tone, Anne stood still.

"Billy." She replied bluntly, seemingly tough on the outside but on the inside she was sweating and having a panic attack.
He took a step closer to her.

"You shouldn't be walking alone in the forest dog, you could get hurt." He gave her a hard stare.

"I can handle it." Anne said stubbornly, glaring at the boy who had just taken another step towards her. If he thought intimidating her would be scary, he was wrong.

"Sure a weak little dog like yourself, someone could knock you flying with one flick." He said as he pushed her elbow making her lose balance and collapse onto the floor.
He started to come closer to her,

"Stay on the floor where dogs like you be-." He was cut off mid sentence.

"Hey Billy!"
Billy froze Anne was sure she saw a flicker of fear in his eyes.
As Billy turned around Anne got a clear view of the holder of the voice.

He was a tall as Billy, brown curls adorned his head, he had shimmering hazel eyes and a concerned look across his face, he was very very handsome.
She recognised him but couldn't but her finger on it.
"How's it going?"

"H-hey Gilbert" Billy mumbled.

Gilbert...as in Gilbert Bly- no it COULDN'T BE!

The handsome boy walked towards them his eyes on Billy, giving him a hard stare.

"Man, it's good to be back" Gilbert said as he stood next to Billy, he looked very confident whereas Billy looked nervous as he glanced back and forth between Anne and the boy.

"Uh-yeah welcome back" Billy stuttered again looking down at Anne then back at Gilbert.

"Yeah-yeah it's good to see you buddy," Gilbert said in a friendly but almost warning tone.
"I see you guys are playing a game or something.." Gilbert said, Anne could already tell by the way he said it that he knew what was going on and that it was no game.

"We should probably get to school eh?" Gilbert carried on whilst glaring daggers at Billy "don't want to be late. The teachers sure get annoyed with that."

"Yeah.." Billy quietly agreed. "I was just about to get going," He lied. "See ya there." He glared at Anne as if telling her that 'this isn't over'. She glared back as Billy left to walk to school.

She breathed a sigh of relief once he left but then turned to the boy who was looking at her.

"You are right?" He asked in concern.
Anne was flustered and unsure what to do.
She quickly got up and raced past him, not making eye contact.
"School...um...don't want to be late"
She walked quickly down the wooden path.
Then suddenly she heard him speak.
"Hey need anything else? Any dragons around here need slaying?" He chuckled lightly.

"No thank you, I'm fine." She yelled back before continuing on her way.

Gilbert followed the girl. She intrigued him, so far she hadn't screamed in shock that it was him THE Gilbert Blythe, she had simply shunned him and walked off. She didn't say thank you and she didn't even laugh at his little dragon comment. She fascinated him for some reason, mabye it was her fiery red hair or how she ignored him. He wasn't sure but he knew one thing, he wanted to know more.
