Avonlea high school
First period
English
8:55am
Students filled into the classroom, most of the boys proceeded to gather round Gilbert and chat to him whilst the girls gathered in groups on the opposite side of the room as they gossiped and chattered on about Gilbert and the mornings events.
By the time the lesson had began Gilbert had a bunch of new friends- not that any of them were genuine friends but he was comforted by the fact he would never be lonely, which is odd since it's not like he would ever be lonely considering how famous he is.
He had not seen Anne since she had ran off earlier on and he wanted to see her again- desperately.
The layout of Mr Phillips classroom was very much different to the layout of the majority of other classrooms here at Avonlea high. There are two rows of benches and desks on each side of the classroom and they are separated by a two metre gap. Mr Phillips desk stood at the very front of the class along with a vastly big white board.
The boys had decided to sit only on the right side of desks and the girls had decided to only sit on the left.
As Gilbert peered around the girls side he saw Ruby and Josie sitting together with Tilly and Jane on the desk behind and in front of them was Diana, alone. Their was an empty space next to Diana and as Gilbert analysed it more he noticed Diana kept glancing at the door as if looking for someone.
Someone tapped his shoulder disturbing him from his pondering and he turned back to face Charlie who was sat next to him.
"Ruby keeps staring at you." He whispered with a light grin on his face. Gilbert rolled his eyes. Ruby had been trying to get his attention since she entered the room- and was failing. Gilbert normally enjoys girls falling over them self's to get his attention but this morning he wasn't feeling it.
He continued chatting to Charlie before Billy and one of his goons entered the room. They proceeded to sit on the desk behind Gilbert. Luckily their was one seat spare on the desk in front so if Billy was irritating, Gilbert planned on that being his escape route- leaving Charlie in the dust whoops.
Gilbert's daydreaming came to a halt as the door creaked open and two people walked in.
The first was a boy with strawberry blonde hair and pale skin, he had a fragile smile on his lips and held a small black sketchbook in his bony hands. The person who followed after him proceeded to get Gilbert's heart pounding.
Her long ginger braids swung as she walked in behind the boy, her mouth formed a wide grin as she laughed at whatever the boy had said, her ocean blue eyes shimmered and shined- Anne.
Gilbert was entranced.
The boy proceeded to sit in the spare seat in front of Gilbert and started chatting to the boy next to him. Anne however sat on the opposite side next to Diana who was eagerly waiting for her.
As Gilbert looked at the boy he couldn't help feeling a bit of jealously, is he Anne's boyfriend?, he sure hoped not.
Gilbert tapped the strawberry blonde haired boy on the back and he swivelled around.
Gilbert watched his eyes widen in shock and Gilbert couldn't help the small smirk that tugged onto his lips.
"Hi, I don't believe we've been introduced, I'm-" Gilbert began but was cut off by the boy.
"Gilbert Blythe. Yes I know who you are," he chuckled nervously.
"I'm Cole, Cole Mackenzie."
Gilbert held his hand out for Cole to shake, Cole took it meekly as a small smile crept onto his lips.
"Hey Rembrandt!" A deep voice called from behind Gilbert, disrupting Gilbert from asking Cole about his relationship with Anne. Cole's smile dropped as he spun around quickly, ignoring the holder of the voice.
