Avonlea school yard
8:30 am
Finally she arrived. School.
She had managed to regain her breath and average heart pace due to that fact she could no longer hear that boys annoying footsteps constantly following her.
As she gazed up at the tall vast building she breathed a sigh of relief.
"I've never seen someone in such a relief to be at a school before."
She froze. That husky warm voice had returned, she could feel his warm breath against her pale neck, she felt a jolt of electricity run through her body.
For heavens sake what does a girl need to do to get some peace around here.
Spinning around sharply she glared at the tall figure who stood to the left of her. He smirked down at her and she felt his eyes examining her.
"Well I'm not like anybody you've met before Mr Blythe." She spoke bluntly before spinning on her heels and continuing. She felt his presence next to her as she entered the bustling yard.
The loud obnoxious sound of students chattering made her ears ache, she wanted to find her friends as soon as possible so she could escape this horrendous crowd and that god forsaken boy.
She was so absorbed in her thoughts she didn't realise the crowd had gone silent. All eyes were on her. She cocked her head lightly towards Gilbert. She couldn't sense the tension and could see a slight crack in that confident smile almost a hint of fear.
He gripped tightly to Anne's wrist.
"It's Gilbert Blythe!" Someone screamed before a stampede of girls came running towards them.
Her eyes bulged open as she turned to Gilbert.
She was ready to ditch him. He would surely love the attention, but something in his eyes- that crack of fear that was still remaining- told her otherwise.
She locked their hands together.
The stamped was approaching quickly.
Her heart was racing. Why oh why did this have to happen.
Without thinking straight she ran- dragging the shocked boy behind her.
They swerved the outdoor eating tables and dodged through the groups of students who's eyes widened at the sight of tHE Gilbert Blythe.
Soon they reached a small door to the side of the building, Anne didn't recognise it but the sounds of girls yelping for Gilbert Blythe to "come backkkkk" was enough to make her risk anything.
She opened it without haste and pulled him in with her, the door slamming.
Inside it was pitch black. All that could be heard was their heavy breaths and the pounding of each other's heart.
"Thanks..." Gilbert breathed,
"No problem.." she returned, wiping the small droplets of sweat off her forehead.
They were disturbed by a door opening, not the same door but another one.
Unfortunately Anne didn't know this door was there- if she did, she probably wouldn't of been leaning on it, which most likely wouldn't have caused these next events.
She fell through the door frame, Gilbert- who was still attached to her arm- tumbled through after.
They landed in a heap onto the cold tiled floor. She opened her eyes to see Gilbert Blythe lying atop of her.
Her eyes widened as she pushed his muscular body off of hers.
She sat up too see her worst fear.
She was sitting in the middle of the hallway that was filled with students, and all those eyes were on her and him.
Then she saw it.
The nearest group to her and Gilbert.
Diana, Ruby, Josie, Tilly, Jane and Cole looking absolutely speechless.
Anne turned back to the door she fell through to see the Janitor standing there with the most shocked and confused expression on his wrinkled face.
"Sorry" she muttered as she got up.
She felt Gilbert standing beside her.
She turned to him, he gave her a weak smile.
She didn't know what to do- so she followed her first instinct.
She ran.
