"How many tops are you taking?" Anne yelled across the room at her phone as she dug further into her closet.
"I think i've packed like twenty, i mean we are going for two weeks and i don't want to run out." Diana replied as Anne could her the clatter of her clothe hangers as she decided what to pack.
It had been a three weeks since the announcement of the New York trip had been released and everyone in their class hadn't stopped talking about it. Gilbert and Anne had raved about their excitement of going on the theme park rides together over many nightly facetime calls.
Their group chat was currently muted on Annes phone since everyone's always spamming questions about what to wear and what to pack. As exciting as it all is, it's making Annes head spin.
"That's a good point," Anne commented back to Diana, "i'll pack eighteen just to be safe."
Anne snatched a black off the shoulder top off a hanger and flung into into her suitcase.
"What dress are you taking Anne?" Diana's voice perked up after a moment of silence.
Annes eyes widened as she scrambled off of her closet floor and across the room, sweeping her phone up and into her hands.
"We need to take a dress?" Anne felt a pit of anxiety ripple within the depths of her stomach. The only two dresses she has are the old outgrown rags from when she was thirteen.
"Yeah, at least four as Ms Stacy told us we are having two fancy evening outings in each week. Didnt you hear her Anne?" Diana informed the shocked girl.
"Uh yes, yes of course i heard." She blatantly lied before she hung up, claiming Marilla was calling her for lunch.
It was a sunday so the shops will be closing soon, and they leave tomorrow. She needs an emergency shopping trip to find a dress right now. But Annes normally good sense of style completely evaporates when it comes to dresses, she can't go alone.

"So which shop shall we go in first?" Anne questioned, her fingers tapping against her thighs in nervousness.
"Oh hunny," Cole shook his head in amusement, "we're going in them all."
Annes eyebrows rose and she chuckled nervously, time to brace herself for Cole's chaotic fashion intervention.

The mall was closing in thirty minutes and Anne and Cole were completely tired. They had spent the past three hours sprinting from shop to shop in search for the perfect dresses. Thanks to Coles expertise, Anne was sure she wouldn't look a complete mess and their trip had been successful.
"So, anyone your excited to hangout with on this trip Anne?" Cole not so subtly winked at her as they lounged in the white metal chairs in the outside area of a simple cafe. He most definitely knew what her answer would be but yet he loved to torment Anne into admitting it.
"You of course dummy!" Anne replied quickly, eager for Cole not to pry further. She nervously took a sip of her coffee to avoid any chance of a blush. But she knew he could always see right through her.
"Sure, sure. Whatever you say Anne. " He winked before rolling his eyes. Mildly irritated by Annes complete blindness or unwillingness to admit what was right in-front of her eyes.
After they finished their trip Cole dropped Anne back home before heading off to go meet up with a cute boy he'd met in art class.
