chapter twenty eight

They were in the Twinkie, and John B was driving them to the Hawks Nest. It was were he had told Sarah to meet up with him.

"All right." John B stopped the van as he had pulled up into the parking lot in front of the forest.

"Hit it, boys! We're goin'. Recon mission." JJ said as Pope opened up the side door of the van. Indi was still trying to calm down Kie as she was visibly upset that they would meet up with Sarah.

"Yo, uh... so, uh, I think I'm gonna do this one by myself..." John B stoped them as they were about to get out of the van. "tonight."

"Really?" Indi asked him in disbelief. 

"What?" He asked back and turned around in the drivers seat to be able to face her as she was in the back of the van.

"Nothing JB, nothing. Thank you for dragging us along to your meet-up." Indi responded sarcastically.

"Look, I just don't want to spook Sarah with the peanut gallery." 

"I just don't understand why we're involving her at all." Kie raised her voice. She felt how Kie was nearly on the verge of tears so she put her arm around her shoulders.

"Kie, we're not involving her, okay?"

"What are we doing then?" Indi asked as she saw no point in meeting up with her if he wasn't planning in involving her later on.

"It's just, uh, like a- a business meeting." John B reasoned. Indi stiffened a laugh as she saw JJ pretending to give a blowjob too something he was holding in his hands. Pope also laughed as he saw the Blonde.

"Look, once we get what we need, we cut her loose, all right? Plus we need the map." 

"That's something I would like to see." Indi told him, she knew for a fact John B wouldn't just cut her loose after this. She didn't know Sarah personally but by the way she was acting it didn't seem like she would just let herself get treated like nothing by a guy.

"Promise me nothing's happening between you." Kiara said.

"Nothing is happening, Kie." John B rolled his eyes at her.

"I'm being serious." 

"Okay!"

"This isn't about you, and this isn't about us. This is about her." She paused. "Dude, she's gonna get inside your head." Sarah had probably already gotten inside of his head. Not like a lot was inside that brain anyways.

"Just promise me nothing's happening between you guys." Kie made him promise again.

"I promise." Indi could tell that he was lying and that something else had happened between the two of them at their visit in Chapel Hill.

"That was really believable." JJ said and pulled at Indi's arm, pulling her to him and putting her to sit on his lap.

"A hundred percent believable." Pope agreed. 

"Anyways, um.. I'm gonna take care of business."

"You're gonna take care of it." JJ said and John B's eyes shifted to him and saw Indi on his lap.

"And you are gonna take your hands off my sister." He said to JJ and took Indi by the arm to take her away from his lap and then got out of the car.

"And we are just gonna sit here in the hot as car, while it's lighting." Pope called after John B and as he had closed his door he added, "And gonna pretend like we don't know that Indi and JJ are fucking behind your back."

"Pope!" Indi scolded him and slapped his arm. They sat there in silence for a while until Pope spoke up.

"Kiara, holding onto your grudge is like drinking poison and thinking Sarah will die."
