INDIANA II JJ Maybank (Outerbanks)

chapter four

Indi was at the end of the boat talking with Kie as her long brown hair blew in the wind.

"Let me show you a party trick" JJ said as he ran to the front of the deck and stood on the edge. He looked back and winked at Indi. "Hey Pope, can you go a little faster?"

"Oh god, here we go, I'm moving" Pope said, speeding up the boat.

"It doesn't work" Indi groaned. She had watched JJ try to do his special party trick for like 6000 times already.

"I got this, this time it's gonna work!" JJ stated and tried to catch the beer with his mouth. It didn't work and drops of beer landed on Kie and Indi.

"Oh my god, you're getting beer in my hair!" Kie said.

"JJ stop it!" Indi laughed, before making her way to the front of the boat to take the beer out of his hands. Just as she was about to take the beer out of his hands, the boat came to an abrupt stop and made her and JJ fly forwards into the water.

She swam up to the surface again, groaning at the headache she had gotten from the fall.

"Indi, Indi are you okay?" She heard John B say from the boat, concerned for his sister.

"Yeah, I'm fine" She told him.

"I think my heels touched the back of my head." JJ exclaimed next to her, floating in the water.

"Yeah, same." Indi said before making her way back to the boat with JJ shortly behind her.

"Pope what did you do?"

"Sandbar, the channel changed." Pope answered JJ.

"Ugh this is probably gonna mess this whole place up." John B said before reaching out his hand for his sister, so she could climb back into the boat. 

"Hey, I saved the beer though." JJ said proudly, still staying in the water.

"Congrats bro." 

"Guys," Pope said from the front of the boat, catching our attention and making us look in his direction. "I think there's a boat down there." he continued looking down into the water.

"No way, you're lying." Indi said before going to stand next to him to see if there is a boat. "His actually right, there is a boat." she said turning back around to Kie and John B.

"Holy shit, let's go." Kie said before taking off her shorts as they all jumped into the water. 

They all made their way down to the boat. Indi's eyes were slightly burning due to the saltwater. They looked at it for a couple seconds before making their way back up. They got to the surface and gasped for air. Indi was good at holding her air, because of all the competitions John B and her held when they were younger, but the boat was still quite far down for both of them.

"You guys saw that right?" JJ asked. They all nodded their heads, amazed at what they had just found in the water. "That's a Grady White. A new one of those is like 500 Gs, easy!"

Indi loved the passion JJ had for boats. They all made their way back to the boat as JJ continued. "That's a primo rig."

The others were already in the boat as JJ helped Indi up into the boat from the water.

"I like the view!" He said as he lifted her up by the waist, clearly looking at her ass. 

"Shut up dumbass." She snorted as her brother continued to talk, oblivious to JJ's comment.

"Yeah, that's the boat I saw when I surfed the surge." he said, "Maybe it hit the jetty or something."

"Wait you surfed the surge without me?" Indi asked, they usually surf together.

"You surfed the surge?" Kie asked in disbelief. 

"That's my boy. Pogue style." JJ chuckled.

"Yeah I surfed without you." her brother answered, ignoring the comments from the others. "You weren't at home. Actually know that I remember where were you last night?" he asked his sister, remembering that she wasn't at home when he had went to bed last night.

All eyes turned to Indiana and she didn't know what to say. They would lose their minds if they found out that she had spent the night at Rafe's place. Nothing had happened but they would still be mad at her.

"I spent the night at Kie's" She said looking at Kiara with a look saying that she would explain it to her later and that she should go along with the lie.

"Yeah, we had a girls night, you know, talking about boys and stuff." She went along with Indi's lie. Indiana sent her a grateful smile.

"Did you talk about me?" JJ asked the girls with a smirk plastered on his face.

"Yeah, you were all we could talk about." Indi answered sarcastically.

"Wait do we know whose boat that is?" Pope said interrupting their conversation.

"No," John B said while lifting up the anchor of the boat. "But we're about to find out."

"Dude, it's too deep." JJ said looking down at the sunken boat in the marsh.

"Oh for the weak and feeble, JJ." John B said making his way over to the front of the boat.

"Well, I'm not resuscitating you. I'm just making that clear up front." JJ told him.

"Neither will I." Indi told her brother. "Maybe I should dive down, I'm good a holding my breath."

"Well you on the other hand, I would love to resuscitate." JJ sent her a wink.

"No I will do it." John B said. "And there is no need to resuscitate anybody around here."

"Diver down fool" Pope said to John B.

"Diver down." John B replied.

"Yeah he is." JJ said as he pushed John B backwards into the water. Indi sent him a glare. She was concerned for her brother, he was the only family she had left.

"Don't worry, he will be fine baby girl." JJ said as he put his arm around her shoulder. When had she started to call her baby girl?

They all went to the side of the boat and waited for John B to come back up. 

"Should we go get him?" Pope asked just as John B came back to the surface.

"Any dead bodies?" Pope asked. What's the deal with him and dead bodies?

"Looting potential?" JJ asked pulling the anchor up into the boat.

"No, and no" he said. "But I found this motel key."

"A key? What are we supposed to do with a key? Indi asked.

"Yes a key Indi." John B said as he climbed back into the boat.

"Great! We salvaged a motel key." JJ said as they started the boat.

"Guys we should report the wreck to the coast guard." Kie suggested. "Maybe we'll get a finders fee." 

"Yeah and not work all summer. Thanks Agatha ya batch." JJ said as they drove off to the coast guard. All  oblivious to the dead body that was just swimming meters away from them.
