INDIANA II JJ Maybank (Outerbanks)

chapter thirty two

Indi spent the night at Kie's place as they talked about how much of an idiot her brother was. Indi didn't like Sarah but she could tell that Sarah made him happy and that's what honestly all mattered to Indi.

They were in her backyard as they heard Pope turning up in the HMS Pogue so they walked down the dock to go and see what he was here for. 

"Code red." He told them.

"What have you guys done now?" Indi asked him as she was shacking her head, not believing that they just couldn't survive one night without them.

"Okay, JJ and John B conked out in the marsh. They need a tow." Pope said as Indi climbed down the ladder to get to the boat.

"Uh, okay, well, what does that have to do with us?" Kie asked him confused. She steps into the boat as Indi is still standing on the dock. It kind of seemed suspicious to her as none of them had mentioned going to the marsh today, as they were still busy figuring out a plan so that Kie and Sarah would work together. 

"We need you for mechanical." Pope shrugged and smiled innocently at them. Indi furrowed her eyebrows but decided to get into the boat either way.

"JJ and John B are up in the Alp." Pope tells them as he drives the boat to where they supposedly are conked. They reached the Heyward's boat and Indi followed Kiara to step on the boat.

"Can't you guys anything without us?" Kie muttered under her breath as she jumped on Heyward's boat. 

As Indiana stepped on Heyward's boat and turned around she was confused to see that Pope hadn't even stood up from his seat.

"Why aren't you coming?" She asked him and she could see how his mind was working to figure out what to say.

"Umm, I'll follow you soon." He said and pretended to search for something in the HMS Pogue.

"Sure?" She said and went to see what the problem with the boat is. Pope was acting weird but, that wasn't really something knew.

"What's the problem?" Indi asked as she leaned on the doorway and crossed her arms over her chest. She watched how JJ, John B and Kiara were looking at something in the floor. 

"Uh, the alternator's, uh, not alternating anymore." JJ stuttered.

"It's not charged." John B told her.

"Have you already checked the plugs?"

"I'm checking them right now." 

"You should check them too, give them a whirl." JJ said standing up from his spot and handing Indiana something to check the plugs with. She furrowed her eyebrows again, because they were all acting really weird.

He grinned at her and kissed her on the forehead and motioned at her to go and check the plugs with Kiara. She sighed and crouched down to check the plugs with Kie. How would they do a better job at checking them if they hadn't figured out how to fix the boat?

"Uh... is this a joke?" Kie asked and Indi looked down to see to what she was referring to. The plugs were missing and she realized this all had to be a trap.

"Sayonara." She heard JJ shouting and then heard two bodies jumping into the water, her suspicions on this all being a trap confirmed. 

Kie and Indi both quickly stood up and ran to the end of the boat to see the boys swimming to Pope who was further away with the HMS Pogue. Indi shacked her head not believing that she had fell for one of their plans.

"Get the fuck back!" Indi shouted at them. She was standing at the end of the boat as Kie had stopped on her way over to her. She looked back at Kiara as she saw her opening a door of the boat and out stepped the Kook Princess herself, Sarah Cameron.
