chapter twenty nine

The whole night Indi had been sitting in the waiting room waiting for the doctors telling her that she can go and see her brother or give her an update on how he's doing. 

The other Pogues had been at the hospital earlier into the night but eventually had to go home, because they weren't related to a patient.

The waiting room was empty, expect for Sarah Cameron that was sitting on the opposite side of the room, both of them sitting in silence and not talking with each other. 

Indiana was angry at the fact that the doctors had let Sarah stay, even tough she wasn't even related to John B nor known him longer than their friends, that had been sent home. 

The chair she was waiting on was uncomfortable and her back was hurting. The silence in the room was killing her but her stubbornness wouldn't give in and speak up first. 

The door opened and a nurse came in calling for relatives of John B.

"Yes?" Indi and Sarah both said at the same time standing up eagerly to get any more informations on his state. 

"You can go see him now. He is still asleep." She said to them and looked down at her papers. "Surprisingly he only has a broken wrist and a concussion. He's lucky." She told them and the girls followed her down the hallway to a hospital room. 

She left them there so they could go in and see John B alone. Indi opened the door and spotted her brother sleeping in the hospital bed. Relief washed over her body at how peacefully he was sleeping in the bed. He didn't look as if he was in pain. 

From behind her Sarah pushed her out of the way and ran to the side of the bed to get to John B. She sat down on the bed and took his hand and started stroking his cheek. 

"You don't have to push me you bitch." Indi scoffed at the Kook that ignored her comment looking lovingly at John B sleeping. 

Indi went to the other side of the bed to have a look at her brother. But she shortly after went to sit in one of the chairs in the room as she felt like she was like the elephant in the room next to Sarah holding John B, even if it was her brother. 

Indi must have fallen asleep, because as she woke up again, the sun was shining through the window and Ward Cameron had joined them in the hospital room. 

Indi scrunched her eyebrows in confusion, not understanding why Sarah's father was here. She noticed her brothers eyes were slightly open and was immediately awake. She stood up and went to stand next to Sarah.

"JB! Oh thank god you're awake, I was so worried for you." Indi babbled and pulled him in for a light hug, trying not to hurt him in any way.

"Indi." He chuckled, amused at her rushing her words out.

"Wait where am I?" He asked them as he looked around in the room not recognizing it. 

"St. Olive's." Sarah said as she bit her lip.

"Sarah's psycho ex Topper pushed you off the Hawk's Nest. You have a concussion and a broken wrist." Indiana informed him about why he was in the hospital earning a dirty look from Sarah, because she mentioned Topper. 

"Whoa." John B mumbled as he took a look at his wrist that was in a cast.

"Pretty cool." Sarah told him.

"This definitely makes you the cooler twin." Indi tries to cheer him up, getting a warm smile from her brother.

"Inds, shit we need to get out of here." He remembered that he was in a hospital where they could be found and tried to push himself off the bed. "DCS is gonna find us-."
