Everything was great.

Lately, everything has been perfect in my house. I mean, my brother was making everything perfect anyway. It had gotten to the point where I could barely believe that this was my brother. Joining the South Baton Rouge Jaguars was one of the best moves he had ever made. He was accomplishing so many things and I was just so proud.

There were scouts who knew him on a first name basis. People showed up to watch him play. I coul hardly believe it, there were things I saw in him that I'm sure he didn't see himself.

Kohl was recognized by the parish. He was put on the BREC allstar team, which was basically like all the kids who were the best of the best came together and competed against each other on two teams that's either east or west.

He got invited to a big dinner recognizing these kids, and a fancy resturaunt... and he also had to go to church

Everything pertaining to this event was formal. Look to your right... you'll see how sharp and nice he looked. He looked like he was starting a new chapter in his life, and he was.

Everything was great. it seemed that his life was literally heading down the right path.

Until one day, the police knocked on our door, asking for kohl.

You see, kohl is a gun collector. apparently, some lady was complaining because he was shooting one of his pellet guns out of the window.

A pellet gun shouldn't be a big deal. (no offense to any of my readers that may be white, or other races that may get offended by this topic)

White people in Louisiana are really prejudice against young black men in general. Kohl having a gun was just a reason for him being shot at or getting the police called on him, A kid that looks like kohl can literally walk down the street with a bright orange water gun and still get pulled over or shot at by police. again, no offense, but my brother is a big black kid. Him being black is already an issue in the previoulsy confederate state we are living in, but god forbid somebody gives that nigger a gun, he might shoot one of our precious white women.

I seriously have trouble believing that, thats some people's mindsets. I swear, southern people have peanuts for brains.

Anyway, they wanted to arrest my brother in the middle of all of his sucess.

if you knew my family, you would see the irony in this.

last night, he was wearing a tux, eating shrimp fetaccini, laughing with his football team.

this morning, he's being threatned with handcuffs.

sorry guys, but black guys can't win in our society at all ever. and if they do make a come up, it's a problem. I'm not paranoid, but im not blind either.

I hate that my brother has to comply with the damned rules of the southern police force.

"we know you didn't do anything wrong kohl, but do you think a white policeman is going to care about that?" says my mom. "please, these days zimmermans are using little black boys with futures as target practice."

My thought is, I know you love your guns kohl, but where are they really going to get you? You see what happens when you shoot bb's at a fence? I dont think this is where your focus should be rn.

I returned the gun that I got him for christmas.

After the little mishap with the police, we proceeded to take kohl to football practice.
