Maya's Pov
The feeling of hands lightly coming through my hair woke me up to the sight of Carl staring at me. I sat up a bit alarmed remembering I had fallen asleep the previous night by myself and he must of noticed too laughing at my reaction.
" You fell asleep on my bed, so I just slept with you." He explained before looking up to see I was still upset from the previous day." Even...though...you're still mad."
" I'm not mad." I lied taking the covers off and heading to the bathroom. I grabbed my toothbrush seeing Carl had followed me and grabbed his own.
" Why did you stomp away then ?"
I placed the toothbrush in my mouth thinking about it yet again. I honestly didn't know why I was upset yesterday or why it even bothered me that Carl was staring at Enid. He was a boy and I didn't have control over his eyes to begin with.
" I wasn't." I lied yet again." I was just...mad Nicholas and Aiden attacked Glenn and Daryl."
He eyed me from the corner of his eyes before spitting the paste in the sink with me. I cupped some water in my hand before rinsing my mouth and fixing my hair.
" I mean if you like Enid, I'll back away." I said causing him to choke on him rising his mouth.
" Pardon ?" He choked.
" I saw the way you looked at her." I sadly admitted." If you like her, I'll back off. I know how jealous...girls can be and I'm not one to fight over a boy."
" Maya, I don't like Enid."
I frowned," You don't?"
" No, I like..." He said when his cheeks turned red." Chocolate."
" What ?"
" Chocolate." He repeated clearing his throat." Anyway, what did you mean by back off ?"
It was my turn to blush and I shrugged," I don't know." I whispered." I'm heading to my aunt's. Are you going to be okay on your own today ?"
" I'll miss you. That would be the biggest tragically moment of being on my own." He teased and I slapped his shoulder before leaving to her house. I made my way to the beige house down the street and walked right in knowing Mandy always left the door open.
" Morning." I called walking into the kitchen seeing she was making pancakes and eggs.
" Morning pumpkin !" She cheered flipping a pancake onto a plate successfully and pouring some orange juice into a glass." I have news for you."
" What is it ?"
" I made a room for you." She rejoiced." I've always had a spare room so all last night I decorated how you would want it. Gray walls, a little desk. I even found some fairy lights in the storage house and brought it over for you."
" Oh." I breathed wondering how I was going to explain everything to her." Listen, Aunt Mandy, I of course would love to live with you, but my group."
" Oh, I understand."
" I could sleep over sometimes. It's just for now I wanna stay with them." I explained." We just moved in and everything. Rick is still weary too."
