Elena Gilbert rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand as she woke up. She sat up slowly as she assessed her surroundings. It seemed like she was in a motel room.
She spotted Ben, a Mystic Falls High Alum that graduated last year, sitting in a chair sleeping, his feet outstretched. Elena scrunched her eyebrows up in confusion because as far as she could remember there was no reason for Ben to kidnap her.
She shrugged a little before looking around for an exit. The only way out, of course, was the front door and she had to walk past the sleeping man. Elena looked slowly from the door to the man, estimating if she could make it without waking him.
Determining that she could do it, Elena slipped off the bed and slowly began walking over to the front door. She slowly stepped over Ben's outstretched legs and slowly backed up towards the door, watching him closely the whole time. When she finally made it she turned away and slowly turned the lock so as not to make any noise.
"I wouldn't." She heard a voice behind her say. Elena gasped and spun around quickly, coming face to face with the man. He looked deep within her eyes and began talking. "Don't try to escape. Don't even move. Do you understand?"
Elena realized that he was trying to use compulsion on her so she relaxed her muscles and nodded robotically. "I understand."
Elena watched stiffly as Ben scoffed and turned to get a bottle out of the mini fridge. She hesitated before she bolted towards the front door and opened it. She ran quickly out the front door but she bumped into a girl not too far from it. The girl roughly grabbed Elena by the hair and pulled her back into the motel room.
"Seriously?!" The girl yelled incredulously at Ben.
"I told her not to move!" He defended himself while glaring at Elena. She shrunk a little from his hateful look. "I did that eye thing that you taught me!"
"And forgot the lesson about vervain!" She answered, her hold on Elena's hair tightening. "She dates a vampire, Ben. Duh!" The girl pushed Elena against a wall and opened a door, presumably that led to the bathroom.
"Who are you? What do you want?" Elena finally worked up the courage to ask. The girl looked at her with a blank expression.
"Does it matter?" She asked before she forcefully shoved Elena into the bathroom and slammed the door.
Elena turned away from the door and felt her way to the light switch. Once the light was on she calmly examined the room, looking for another way out. During her search she glanced over towards the bathtub and gasped as she saw a body in it.
"Bonnie?" She yelled as she ran over to her unconscious best friend. She lifted Bonnie's head up to feel the small amount of blood, pooling around a small wound on the back of her head. "Oh my god!"
