Damon Salvatore casually walked across the high school's lawn as various students and teachers rushed to prepare for Founder's Day with Mrs. Lockwood supervising.

The woman had a loud speaker held to her face as she stood on a make-shift stage. "No, no, no, no, no! It's all wrong!" She began scolding a group of helpers. "The marching band should be in front of the Historic Society. Matt, get up on that float. Boys, I asked you to put chains on the Founders' Float." The mayor's wife turned from the boys and directed her glare onto the ladies. "Ladies! Time to get on the float."

Damon chuckled lowly and looked away from the woman. His eyes raked across the crowd, looking for his brother or Ade or even Elena. After a few seconds he spotted his brother standing alone and made his way over to him.

"Look at you, all retro."

Stefan rolled his eyes as he focused on his brother. "What are you doing here?"

"Why wouldn't I be here?" Damon asked rhetorically with a smile. "Bonnie deactivated the Gilbert invention, Isobel is gone, and it's Founders' Day!" Stefan gave his brother a blank look, which just caused Damon to sling his arm around his shoulders. "I'm here to eat cotton candy and be with my girl."

Stefan's eyebrows shot up at the last statement. "Don't start with me, Damon."

Damon shrugged and removed his arm from his brother's shoulders. "Oh, you started this, Stefan, with that whole 'leave Adrianna alone' speech. I'm enjoying that."

The younger Salvatore rolled his eyes and turned away. "As long as you heard it."

"What? You have no sense of humor, Stefan."

"Actually, I've no sense of 'Damon humor'."

Now it was Damon that rolled his eyes. He was getting really tired of Stefan thinking that he could intimidate him into doing anything. His eyes narrowed as he contemplated showing his brother how not afraid of him he was. But Damon just relaxed and let a smirk spread across his lips instead. "Hey look, I get it, I get it. I'm the better, hotter, superior choice and you're scared, now that Katherine is out of the picture that I'm gonna turn all my attention to Ade."

Stefan gave his brother a look of confusion, as if he didn't know where he was going with his statements. The smirk on Damon's lips just widened.

"You're worried that Elena is gonna see what a great man I am and just fall madly in love with me." Stefan's eyes went stormy and Damon just watched him in amusement. "But don't worry, little brother. The only one that has my attention is Ade and we both know that Elena is not Ade."

"You're right, she's not." Stefan agreed with a nod of his head. "And neither of them are Katherine."

Damon narrowed his eyes as he glared at his brother. Whatever words he was about to say caught in his throat as he glanced ahead of him. Elena and Adrianna were walking towards them, their arms interlocked and matching smiles on their faces.
