Adrianna groaned loudly as she rolled over in her bed. When she didn't bump into a body she opened her eyes to see that she was alone. She sat up in the bed and grabbed her phone from the bedside table to check it. She had one message from Damon.

From: Damon
I'll see you later today

Adrianna sighed and got up, about to change her clothes when she heard a yell from downstairs.

"Adri, get down here for a minute." Aunt Jenna called and Adrianna frowned a little. She shrugged before pulling on sweatpants and a hoodie and running down the stairs. Aunt Jenna was sitting at the dining table with her laptop and Elena was standing behind her.

"What's going on?" Adrianna asked as she walked over to the women.

"I did some digging." Jenna replied before turning back to the computer. "Your dad kept everything from his medical practice—records, logs, old appointment books." Adrianna took a seat while Jenna pulled out an old journal and showed them a page. "I found an entry from the night you two were born. Patient and a birth date."

Adrianna grabbed the journal from her aunt and read the name. "Isobel Peterson."

"Do you think that's her real name?" Elena asked and Adrianna shrugged, handing the journal back to her aunt.

"Pregnant teenage runaway? Probably not. First name? Maybe." Jenna asked and answered her questions. "But where'd she get Peterson? Classmate? Best friend? So I binged it." She turned to her computer and began typing. "I searched for all the Petersons in this area born the same year as Isobel, found 3–2 men and a woman, Trudie, who lived in Grove Hill, Virginia."

"I have friends up there. It's not far." Adrianna supplied as their aunt typed something again and turned the laptop screen to them. It was a picture of a woman in a cheerleading uniform. The label at the bottom of the picture identified her as Isobel. Their mother.

"Isobel." Elena said with a smile. "She was a cheerleader."

"Trudie still lives there." Jenna said before handing a post-it note to Adrianna. "This is her address."

"Isobel?" Adrianna asked as she closed her fingers around the address. Elena looked up with a hopeful expression but the look on Jenna's face didn't promise any good news.

"I couldn't find anything about her." Jenna said and Elena's shoulders dropped as she pulled a chair out next to Adrianna. Jenna seemed to hesitate before she spoke again. "Listen. There's something else. Mr. Saltzman, Ric, his wife was from around here, and her name was also Isobel."

Adrianna took a deep breath as she took in what she just said.

Was.

Meaning that she was dead.

"She died." Jenna stated with a sympathetic look.

Stefan Salvatore pushed open the front door of the Salvatore Boarding House to see Damon feeding on a sorority girl. There was music playing in the room and two other girls were dancing, both with bite marks all over their bodies.
