Damon walked into Stefan's room with a glass of blood in his hand, annoyance written over his features. Stefan was doing exercises, the music blaring loudly throughout the house. "Could you turn it up a little bit? It's not annoying yet."

Stefan paused his actions and shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry."

Damon sighed and moved to turn off the music. "When are you going back to school?"

"Soon." Stefan answered before he dropped to the floor and began doing push ups.

Damon rolled his eyes and walked closer to his brother. "Oh come on. Just drink already. This self-detox is not natural." Damon placed the glass next to Stefan's face.

"Can you get that away from me please?" Stefan kept his gaze forward, deliberately avoiding the glass of blood.

Damon picked up the glass and held it in his hand. "How long did it take you to wean yourself off it the last time you indulged?" Stefan ignored him and continued doing push ups. "That's not good."

"I'll be fine." Stefan finally answered. "It just takes a little bit of time."

"I don't get it." Damon brought the glass to his lips and took a sip. "You know, you don't have to kill to survive. That's what blood banks are for. I haven't hunted a human in..." Damon trailed off as he thought about the last time he drained someone. "God, way too long."

"Oh, I'm impressed." Stefan said as he got up from the ground. His tone was half mocking half sincere.

"It's completely self-serving." Damon informed him with a smirk. "I'm trying to get the town off the trail of vampires which is not very easy considering that there's an entire tomb of them running around."

"What are we planning on doing about that?"

"We are not going to do much of anything if you don't have your strength." Damon brought the blood up to his lips and Stefan turned away, going back to pull ups. "There's nothing wrong with partaking in a healthy diet of human blood from a blood bank. You're not actually killing anyone."

"I have my reasons."

"Well, what are those holier-than-thou reasons?" Damon asked and went to sit in Stefan's couch. "You know, we never actually discussed this. I'd—I'd love to hear this story."

Stefan stopped working out and glared at his brother. "You're really enjoying this, aren't you? Watching me struggle?"

"Very much so." Damon answered with a smirk, taking a sip of the blood.
