-AYANDISWA BESS
Of all people Yanga could be messing around with it just had to be her. I don’t even get what the hell is so special about her! I sit in my room and press my phone chatting with my friends as a way to forget seeing my brother naked with that girl. There's a knock on my door
“Come in”
I say still not looking
“Aya hey”
She says, I know exactly who it is
“What are you doing in my room?”
I ask annoyed turning to face her
“What you saw…”
She starts off but I cut her midway
“Should never have happened and once I tell my parents you will be out of here!”
I say proudly
“I could beg you not to tell your mom but you don’t like me Aya and you will say and do anything to get rid of me but do you really want to get your brother in that kind of trouble? I mean if your mom found out maybe she would kick me out but I don’t think you and your brother would recover from the betrayal. I’ve heard sibling bond is sacred and special and you of all people wouldn’t want to mess that up now would you?”
She says proudly making me swallow whatever words I was thinking of saying
“So you did this on purpose?”
She chuckles
“not at all but it was your brother who kissed me first and no, I don’t want Yanga! I don’t want any of your siblings Aya. Heck I don’t even understand why you so jealous of me when I can only wish to have the kind of family you have.”
She says
“Look, we not friends and we probably never will be but I love your family and they are amazing people. If telling your mom what happened will earn you daughter of the year award then go right ahead. I won't stop you nor will I defend myself”
she says and then walks out leaving me feeling a sudden cloud of guilt. She has a point, telling mom would ruin things between Yanga and I, we made a pact when we were kids to always have each other’s backs and to never tell on the other one. I take a deep breath and huff in frustration. Until I’m disturbed by another knock different from Mercy’s knock
“come in”
I say and the door opens
“hey sis”
That is definitely Yanga’s voice, I hear him walk over to my bed after closing the door. He sits on my bed and touches my back
“You shouldn’t have walked in on that”
He starts off and I don’t respond
“There is nothing going on between her and I and there won't ever be. Please don’t tell mom or dad”
He says
“I will get you that heel you posted on your story”
he says and I smile still not daring to raise my head up to look at him
“please baby sis”
He pleads
“fine!”
I say and then look up at him
“You like her?”
I ask and he shakes his head no
“It was a spare of the moment thing Aya, don’t worry about it. You are my sister and she will never replace you”
He says and I sit up
“Ok I hear you”
I say and he smiles at me, I roll my eyes but his smile only grows wider and I end up cracking
“So I owe you a shoe?”
he asks and I chuckle
“Yes you do and it's not cheap!”
I say proudly and he rolls his eyes
“Shower and get ready, we going to leave soon”
He says and then gets up and leaves my room. I shower quickly for the I don’t know how manieth time but it's cool to be fresh. When I’m done I wear one of my dresses and my siblings suggest we leave mom and dad because they are probably busy getting it on.
“Where’s Serena and Ash?”
I ask as we get in the car
“They left a while ago”
Miso responds and I nod
“We’ll meet them at the function”
Yanga adds. In the car it's me with Yanga, Miso and Mercy. They engage in a conversation while I just sit and press my phone because clearly they don’t want my input. Not that Yanga didn’t try to include me but I just can't pretend with Mercy. I just don’t like her and her attitude. We arrive and are greeted by almost everyone that knows our parents. Kyle is said to be on his way and thank God he arrives. We chat a bit until I excuse myself and just then my phone rings and it's Ro calling, I answer his video call walking out to the back
“Hey”
I say
“you look amazing”
He says and I smile
“Thank you”
He nods
“How are you? I am sorry about earlier”
He says and I shrug
“This is a friend of mine, Lwando Mbana”
He says showing me some beautiful Kevin Mccall looking guy
“Hey, you must be the famous Aya, it's a pleasure to finally meet you even if it's over the phone”
He says and I smile politely
“Your man is teaching me a lot and I promise you he will be back!”
He says and I just nod
“Anyway goodbye lovebirds”
Lwando says leaving me to talk to Ro
“So what are you teaching him?”
I ask and he shrugs
“coding mostly”
He says and I nod
“I have to return to the function”
I say
“I know you still mad at me but we’ll talk tomorrow, I promise I will call you”
He says and cuts the call. I sigh and then head back in and mom is making a speech until Mercy goes up to say a few words and then the covered art is revealed. I go home every weekend and even I have never seen her pieces and I must say they are impressive and very beautiful and clean, her work is shockingly clean
