FEW YEARS LATER
-MISOKUHLE BESS
"Miso are you ready to do this?"
Dad asks walking into my dressing room. It's not even a question, I have waited for so long for this day. I have been longing to marry Yolanda for years now, we have went through hell and back to get to where we are now so Yes, yes I am ready to make her my wife, I am ready to spend the rest of my life with but I am scared that she might just leave me hanging. She is every much capable of doing that to me even though she was the one that asked me to marry her but she is capable.
I smile and turn to dad
"Yes I'm ready"
I say and he smiles
"I'm proud of you Miso. I'm glad you and Yolanda were able to find common ground and build stability for yourselves and for the sake of Kendra"
He says and I smile
"Well we can't be so certain yet until she says 'I Do' because that woman has a loose screw and she might even not pitch up"
He chuckles
"Well she wouldn't be a woman if she didn't act crazy every now and then. But on the real son I am proud of you and the man you have become for that little girl. You've done a great job"
I smile
"Thank you dad"
"Ready to go?"
Yanga asks walking in disturbing our heartfelt moment. Dad pulls me in for a hug
"That's so cute but we don't want to be late"
He says and I roll my eyes as we break the hug. We head to the house where the service will be held and I stand with my friends because my brothers are apparently too old to be my groomsmen. It's whatever though. My little princess looks like a princess in her dress. The song starts to play and I cross my fingers that this woman shows up because it would be embarrassing if she did. She makes her way down the alter looking beautiful than I have ever seen her look before. She stands opposite me and she smiles
"you look beautiful Buttercup"
I say to her
"you clean up pretty well yourself"
She says and then we turn to look at the pastor. He says a few important things and then it's time to say our vows. I go first
"I could write a book about the love I have for you but then I'd run out of paper and ink because my love for you wouldn't fit on any amount of pages. Yolanda from the minute I
met you I knew that you would make my life difficult"
she shoots me a threatening look but I don't care because it's the honest truth, I chuckle
"if you guys could see the way she's looking at me right now. As I was saying. I knew that I wanted it to be you who makes my life difficult while making it better than it was before you came into it. I remember the first time you told me you love me, how you quickly covered your face with your hands because you yourself couldn't believe what you had just told me. I knew then and there that you were the perfect one. You have given me the greatest gift any man could ever ask for and I'm more than grateful for you and how you've been an amazing mother to me and our daughter. I know we can be the most difficult people to live with but not once have you complained but instead you love us more than anything in this
world and you make us the best we can be. I love you Mrs Me. My buttercup"
I wipe away her tears as she smiles, she looks at me and then at the paper she is holding and then she turns to hand the paper to Macella.
