We pass by our parents and get our keys and then drive to Kate’s house to check on them. I park the car and we all get off and then go to the door, I click the bell and Kyle’s sister Elaina opens the door for us.
“Hi”
She says clearly stunned to see us
“Hello kiddo”
I greet her and we share a hug, she greets each one of us
“This is Clark, Kyle’s girlfriend and this is Macella”
I say and she smiles
“I’m Kyle’s sister”
She says with the cutest smile
“Nice to meet you too”
She says and then lets us in, we follow behind her as she takes us to Kate. On the way we meet their other family members
“Hello”
Kyle says from behind us, he and Clark share a moment before they break the hug and he greets each one of us
“Thank you guys for coming”
He finally says
“Even you too Mercy”
He says and she fakes a smile
“You my brother, I wouldn’t miss this for the world”
She says and he smiles.
“Anyway lets go to mom”
He says and then we all make our way to the lounge where Kate is together with the rest of her family and inlaws. We greet everyone shaking their hands and hugging Kate
“Honey where’s your father?”
Kate asks Elaina who shrugs
“he must be outside smoking”
She says and Kate nods
“Call him in to meet Yaya’s children”
She says and then Elaina walks out to find her father, we all take a sit with Mercy sitting next to me
“You ok?”
I whisper and she nods
“You look like you can't breathe”
I say and she fakes a smile
“I’m fine Yanga”
She says clearly annoyed, I let her be. Eric walks in following his daughter. Kate introduces us to him, not that we don’t know him already but we haven’t seen him in a while. He looks at Mercy like he’s just seen a ghost and Mercy returns the very same look taking me by surprise
