Pete felt like an idiot- a stupid idiot.
It's been several days later since he met Valentina.... and he forgot to get her number. He didn't even catch her last name so he could look her up on Instagram later. That night, they couldn't spend as much time together as they wanted. Valentina left shortly after his arrival at the Mulaney residence, said that it was late, and she had to wake up early the next day; he's been beating himself up since then.
The simple solution could be to ask either John or Anna to get her number, but he didn't want anyone to know that he was interested in her.
Could that be such a terrible thing? he wondered.
The press would have a field day, that would be a terrible thing. Pete didn't think that he was 'famous' but when word got out that he dated the daughter of Larry David, he couldn't believe the publicity he received; the breakup brought even more focus on him.
But that shouldn't bar him for wanting to be with someone that could potentially make him happy?
A stack of papers plopped on his desk, snapping Pete out of his deep thinking. "I've been trying to get your attention for the past five minutes," John said, a bit annoyed, "Did you finish the rewrites and handed them to Jost?"
"Huh? Oh yeah, here you go," Pete handed John his rewrites that were marked in red ink, "I know it's last minute to be saying this, but I think I have an idea for a sketch."
While reviewing the papers John said, "Is that so? Well, pitch me your idea, good sir."
Pete leaned back in his chair and puts his hands behind his head, "A guy meets a girl somewhere, let's say a coffee shop, and they hit it off. The guy asks the girl out to dinner, she says yes and leaves the store. The guy is like 'fuck yeah' but then he realizes that he's a fucking dumbass because he didn't get her number or her last name and the rest of the sketch is basically this fucking idiot of a guy trying to find the girl."
"And we can have the girl be excited for this date and getting ready, all while the guy is freaking the fuck out. Great idea, and it's only Thursday so it's not late to pitch it. Type up a draft and have it ready, I'm gonna go to Lorne and have him approve," John gets up and walked towards the door, his hand on the doorknob.
Pete began writing his sketch down when he heard John speak, "Her last name is Perez. Anna and I invited her to brunch on Sunday at 10:30. You should come along."
The comedian looked in his direction and tried to suppress a smile, but he couldn't help it. He's excited that he has another chance of seeing her again. Opening the door, John quietly laughed and left the room. The instant John stepped out, Pete typed her full name along with 'New York' and couldn't believe his luck that she was the first link that popped up.

Born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, Valentina Perez began her ballet studies at age eleven at the Scottsdale School of Ballet. Perez studied at the American Ballet Theatre's Summer Intensive Program onfull scholarship and was declared ABT's National Coca-Cola Scholar. At the age of fifteen, she joined the American Ballet Theatre as a member of the corps de ballet, making her the youngest dancer in the company's history. She also leads the Summer Intensive Program for aspiring dancers.
She's absolutely breathtaking, Pete thought.
He was never the one to be crushing on people that he casually bumps into (figuratively and literally). But, there was something about her that makes him absolutely smitten. On that note, he exited out of the website and started counting down the minutes until he can see Valentina again.

A double update this week?? I know this one is shorter but I wanted to get another out for y'all. Pete is totally crushing on Val and John being his wingman in a way, so cute! You guys are going to notice some inconsistencies in the time so let me clarify it real quick.
When Val and Pete first meet, it is 2013 and I know that Pete doesn't join SNL until 2014, but I wanted it to be in real time. Just humor me okay?
I actually loved writing this chapter so much, I did a lot of research about ABT, I feel gives it more reality and depth to what you're reading.
