???'s POV

"So you're saying that you've seen her?" I asked, losing my patience.

"Yes, I've seen her and Symphony has assured me that she's in good hands. I trust Symphony, but I barely know you. I want what's best for (Y/n)," The dual-haired merman spoke vaguely. I pursed my lips, not happy with the answers I was receiving.

"Look, this could be a matter of life or death. If she comes with me I can ensure her safety. I don't care what supposedly 'good deed' that pirate has done in the past, can you really trust someone who was a member of The League?"

"If you're that concerned you can bring it up with Symphony. That pirate is an old friend of hers. You're not giving (Y/n) enough credit— she can handle herself. Now get out of my sight, I'm sick of talking to you," Todoroki blew me off and dove down into the water below. I grabbed a fist-full of sand and chucked it into the sea before me. If only people understood the danger she was in.

Bakugo's POV

I carried out several dishes with the help of some of my crew. Out on the deck, Jirou, Kaminari, and (L/n) were finishing setting the table. (L/n) was smiling and laughing at Kaminari's terrible jokes, as if nothing had just happened. There was some sense of awkwardness in the air, as no one dared to ask her what happened.  She twirled around in her long coat while gently setting plates down.

"Oh! That's a ton of food! Come on, don't just stand there. We're all starving!" (L/n) giggled, but her (e/c) eyes were static and didn't match her beaming smile. I hesitated a moment, a quick shiver running down my spine, before setting a couple dishes down on the table. Everyone took their seats and the feast began.

(L/n) piled a massive sum of food up on her plate and twirled a fork around, preparing to dig in. Just as she brought a piece of fish to her mouth, she froze and stared at it for a long time.

"Um... (L/n)? Are you alright?" Kirishima asked quietly, afraid he might get his head cut off.

"What?" (L/n) looked up quickly to meet his concerned gaze. "Oh yeah! Sorry, I spaced out for a second." She gave another pathetic smile and began eating slowly-- constantly complimenting those who made the food.

Personally, I had very little appetite. Ever since (L/n) had boarded the Bakuhatsu, weird things had been happening. First I thought it was just because of her constant need to fight against us, but recently it almost seemed the opposite. Each day we neared Kingston, a feeling of doom crept upon me. I almost didn't want to leave her there anymore. When we first rescued her, I couldn't wait to get rid of her, but now I was hesitant. i felt that I was more involved in her story than I was able to understand. These strange thoughts had been overwhelming my mind the past few days and I couldn't make any sense of them. They kept me from eating, sleeping, and just thinking straight at all. I just kept wishing to reach some sort of clarity, but each day lead into more confusion.
