???'s POV

"Captain! Are you alright?" A green-haired boy caught me as my legs gave out beneath me.

"Sorry, this overwhelming sense of fear just took over my body... we need to find her, and quick."

(Y/n)'s POV

A massive ship emerged from the purple fog, the smell of blood clogging my scent. I froze in shock, seeing the ship that dragged my sister away that dreaded day.

"I thought I told you to go below deck!" Bakugo shouted between gritted teeth. As much as I wanted to fight his command, I knew that I had to trust him. I sprinted down the rickety stairs and into my room, locking the door behind me. I grabbed my saber that I had lazily left on the floor and slid it into my holster. A refraction caught my eye and a turned my attention to my scale necklace sitting on my desk. I quickly grabbed it and tied the twine around my neck. The scale fell directly on top of my locket and I furrowed my brows.

"I'm not letting them have you two again," I growled, taking off the locket and closing it in my desk drawer. I could hear cannons go off and the mere sound of lead crashing into the ocean sent my mind hurtling back through memory after memory of brutal raids. I knew I was being pathetic, but I couldn't fight back my natural instincts when it came to raids. I swung open my wardrobe and shoved myself between two coats. My hand hovered over my saber, prepared to slice whatever face may be waiting for me on the other side. If I had the opportunity to get vengeance for my mother and sister, I wouldn't think twice.

I went to peek through the keyhole and verify that I was still alone and safe, but the purple fog had made its way into my room and impaired my vision. I couldn't believe that the fog had really subdued the entirety of the ship. I tried to focus on my breath to keep myself from hyperventilating. Just as my anxiety was reaching it's worst, a familiar voice calmed me back down.

"(L/n)? Where are you? It's me, Pirate Lord Bakugo," Bakugo cooed, speaking somewhat strangely. I opened my mouth to reveal my location, but I was cut off. "(L/n)? Come on out, they're gone."

I sighed a breath of relief, but still rather surprised on how quickly this passed. Just after he said that, the cannon fire came to a halt, yet the purple fog still seemed to be lingering. I slowly opened the wardrobe doors and looked into Bakugo's fiery eyes. I smiled for a moment, but it quickly disappeared. Bakugo had a massive grin on his face. I had seen him smile, but never like this.

"Captain? Are you feeling alright?" I asked, slowly stepping out of the wardrobe with my fingers wrapping underneath the hilt. I kept my distance from the odd-faced pirate, but still gave myself plenty of room in case I needed to protect myself. Just what had gotten into him?!

"Of course I am! I'm just glad you're alright, that's all," He said with an even bigger smile. He took a step towards me and I hesitated to step back. Suddenly, the cannon fire picked up again. In an instant, I whipped my saber out and took a defensive stance.

"Aren't you going to go check on that, Captain?" I asked, no longer convinced the Bakugo I thought I knew was standing in front of me.

"Why of course, dear, but why don't you come with me. Take my hand, why don't you?" He offered up his hand, but my stomach churned at the thought of taking it. I slowly raised my free hand towards his, but then quickly switched actions and sliced his hand.

"Ouch!" He yelped, stepping backwards and preceding to stare at the blood puckering in the palm of his hand. This gave me just enough time to think of a plan.

"Sorry, but I'm not sure I'm ready to go up there and fight. Let me duel you first real quick, like for practice, then I'll go," I suggested, angling my head towards the cutlass at Bakugo's hip.
