Tokoyami's POV

"Man, what kind of idiot does that? I never saw that coming, that's for sure," Hawks exclaimed in disbelief after I told them about Valentina giving (Y/n) back to Lisander in exchange for his promise to keep her safe.

"Well, not everyone can think straight when they have two soldiers holding swords to their throat while their sister is on the verge of killing their father," I rolled my eyes, really wishing Hawks would be more serious about the matter.

"So, we're going to do something about it, right?" Hawks asked, swirling around his drink.

"I was hoping you'd be up to it."

"Well, at this point I just want to see the League and Lisander cry, so yeah, I'm in."

"Okay, but we're going to need some help, and there's only one day in which this will work. You find their ship and fill them in... I've got a wedding to help plan."

(Y/n)'s POV

"Miss, your father is asking you attend dinner tonight. You haven't eaten in days, please just do this for his satisfaction," a guard outside my door asked of me. I stood looking out the window that Bakugo had once entered through to whisk me away from this very situation. I sighed and pulled the scale necklace out of the front of my dress. I couldn't even recognize m own blurry reflection: my hair was pinned up and a few stray pieces clung together in tight ringlets, my cheeks weren't red from the biting wind at see but rather from crushed minerals, and my skin was two shades too pale. I rubbed my thumb over the scale, but knew it was useless— Todoroki could not save me on land.

"His satisfaction? I will do nothing for his satisfaction. He said that he was bringing me back to my home life, yet I'm not even allowed to see my closest friends. Tell him he can eat alone," I snapped. I opened my wardrobe and took out my hidden saber, twirling it around and practicing some footwork.

"(Y/n), I'm coming in," my father's voice caught me off guard and I quickly hid the saber and shut my wardrobe doors.

"Absolutely not, you scum. You have no right to invade my privacy every time you experience displeasure. Now go stuff your face with food, like you always do."

"(Y/n), I am your father and I own this house, so I can do whatever I want—"

"Like killing people who you're afraid of?"

"Watch your mouth, young lady. Show some respect."

"If you're not obligated to respect me, than why should I have to respect you? You're the one treating me like a prisoner, so I might as well act like one," I came back at my father's attempt to reprimand me. I was going to be married tomorrow, yet he still thought he could control me as a parent.

"If it weren't for your sister, you would have taken my life without hesitation. You can't blame me for having you locked up until the wedding, plus it's for your own safety. Do you know how many of my men are terrified of you? You nearly killed their governor... that is not something that is taken lightly around these parts."

"Oh, but they're completely fine with you selling your eldest child into slavery and arranging for your youngest and your wife to be killed, or have you not told them that?" I laughed. I couldn't believe how idiotic my father was.

"Fine, you won't eat again tonight, but that's not my fault. I will see you tomorrow at the wedding. Goodnight," Lisander said robotically. I took the dagger out of the drawer of my bedside table and pressed it into one of my fingertips. I applied the blood to one of my dream tattoos and smiled as my favorite meal formulated into existence. How could I be related to someone lacking such intellect?
