(Darrel's POV)

I woke up sobbing and freaking out. Mack instantly jumped up and I pulled her into a long hug. I continuously kissed her head and rocked us back and forth. I was crying so hard while Mack tried to calm me down.

Eventually I slowed down and at this point Pony was holding Nolan in the doorway. I grabbed my boy and held him to us and pulled Mack back in.

"What's wrong Dada?" Nolan said while pointing at my tears.
"Nothing little buddy, just a bad dream." I kissed his head and he laid down on me.

Mack looked terrified. It was about two in the morning. Nolan softly fell asleep and I placed him in between Mack and I. I explained what happened in the dream and she kissed my head over and over.

I was scared beyond my mind. I had a gut feeling that Lindsay was going to be trouble. Mack held Nolan in her arms as she slowly drifted back off to sleep. I pulled them into me and placed a blanket over us all.

I couldn't fall asleep for the rest of the night.

(Mackenzie's POV)

I woke up slowly to Darry playing with Nolan on the bed. They were holding dinosaurs, of course. Nolan saw I was awake and gasped crawling over to give me a hug. I pulled him into my arms and sat up. He showed me his dinosaur and gave me the third one so I could join.

Dar gave me a quick kiss when Nolan wasn't looking so he wouldn't yell at us. It was adorable but it was too early for the loud noises. We played Dino's for a while before Darry and I had work. We decided that Darry would bring Nolan with him.

We kissed goodbye earning an 'EW' from Nolan and Ponyboy. Then Darry went to drop off Pony at school.

I walked into the building and sat at my desk. I had a meeting at 12. Apparently we were getting a new worker. Time dragged on until we finally had the meeting.

I was playing with my pen listening to a boring speech about professionalism in the work place when I finally heard, "meet your new co-worker, Lindsay." I looked up and my jaw dropped.

This girl was now going to be working with me. As if it wasn't awkward enough. She came and sat next to me, smiling a big, cheesy, fake smile. I returned one and continued to play with my pen.

I stopped focusing at all and let my mind run. I thought of Darry, Nolan, the psycho bitch next to me, my next project, the gang.

"MACK!" I voice said loud and I jumped a bit. My boss laughed a little. "You're partners with Lindsay." GREAT. Just my luck. I tried to argue but he cut me off and ended the meeting.

"Well partner, should we go to your place tonight and work on it?" She asked slyly.
"No, we can work on it here, during work hours." I replied cooly. She clenched her jaw but smiled and nodded.

The day ended and I waited outside for Darry to pick me up. He came and got out of the car to grab my door. He kissed me sweetly and Nolan started laughing this time. I smiled and hugged my Dar.

"HEY DARRY!" Lindsay said running up.
"Uh. Hi Lindsay?" He replied.
"I work here now, with Mack. Isn't that great." She said excitedly. Darry just gave a monotonous 'mm' as an answer. As if to say, not really.

"Well we gotta go." I said breaking the ice. He grabbed my hand and got my door before getting us home quickly.
