(Mackenzie's POV)

We'd been sitting there for a while. "Can I go see Dar?" I asked. They nodded.
"I'll come with you." Steve said.
"Okay, hold Emily." I said and passed her to Pony.

I slowly got up and started towards the room with Steve. He held my hand as we made our way down the hall. We got to his room and I walked in.

My poor sunshine was all beaten up, I hadn't noticed how bad it'd been. He was sleeping peacefully, well, coma. So not sleeping? I walked over and sat on his bed with him. Steve left the room and waited outside.

I kissed his cheek making sure to not hurt him. I held his hand. I just talked to him. I needed him here.
"Hi sunshine.." I whispered. "You gotta come back to me okay? I need you. Nolan needs you. Emily needs you." I said and started to cry. "I love you." I leaned my head to his chest. I lightly felt him hold my hand.

I knew he could hear me. "I'll be back and I'll bring the kids okay? You're gonna be okay." I said and kissed his head again.

(Darrel's POV)

I could hear Mack. She was starting to cry. Saying how she needed me. How my kids needed me. I tried my hardest to pull her close and kiss her and tell her how much I love her.

The best I got was a twitch in my hand. But she held it tighter and knew I was there. I just need to get out of this hell hole. I need my kids and my wife. I heard her get up and leave and the room fell silent again.

(Mackenzie's POV)

I left the room. I couldn't see him like that. I got back to my room and took Emily into my arms. We could leave tomorrow morning if I passed my checkups.

Steve stayed with me all day while Soda sat with Darry and had Nolan with him. I went and saw Darry again.
"Hi sunshine." I whispered and sat next to him. "I think I'll be out of here tomorrow but I'll be back soon. I miss you." I whispered and laid my head on his chest.

I stayed there for a while just listening to his heartbeat. I kissed his cheek and got up. "Love you Sunshine." I said and left the room sadly.

When I got back to my room I held Emily. Soda and Steve already took Nolan home for me. She just looked at me. It was like staring into Darry's eyes just with a different story.

I held her little hand and kissed her sweet face. She was my baby. I miss my Nolan too. He's probably freaking out having me and Darry somewhere else. He was never good at separating from us. Which is understandable.

I gave Emily to the nurse and softly slept. I dreamed of having all four of us together. Me, Dar, Nolan, and Emily. We'd be there soon. I know Darry will pull through he always does, he's a fighter.
