(Mackenzie's POV)

I woke up to Emily crying. Well, more like screeching. I ran over and picked her up. I cradled her in my arms.

"Shh...it's alright baby. It's alright." I whispered. If she woke up Nolan I wouldn't be able to sleep. She kept crying for while. I fed her and changed her but nothing was working.

I rocked her back and forth in the rocking chair. She slowly drifted off and I put her back in the crib. I walked back over to the bed. I was keeping Emily with me for a week so she could feel safe. I quickly slipped back into the darkness.

I woke up again to Emily's screaming. However, now it was light out. I looked to my clock, 6:00am. I walked over and picked up my baby. I knew she wasn't going back to sleep so I just cradled her. I went into Nolan's room and he was still asleep.

I went to the kitchen and placed Emily in her high chair while I made breakfast. It's weird how no ones here. Since Pony and Soda moved the whole gang still came over but now that Darry wasn't here they really weren't either. Someone is always at the hospital.

I made scrambled eggs and toast for Nolan and I. Just then Soda and Steve came strutting through the door.
"Hi boys." I said and gave them each a hug.
"Hi Mack." They said then proceeded to play with the kids.
"I'm going to see Darry, can you guys babysit?" I asked.
"Uhhh no!" They both said quickly.

"Oh, okay..." I said suspiciously. "Then what are you two up to?" I asked.
"Nothing." Steve answered.
"Soda?" I asked. I couldn't break Steve but I had a chance at Soda.
"Uhh n-nothing." Soda said without eye contact.
"Soda." I said again in a more singing voice.
"Nothing!" He said fast.

"Hm. Alright. Guess I'll have to ask my mom." I said.
"No! Spend time with the kids!" Steve said.
"Okay what's going on?" I asked.
"Nothing. The kids just need you. Stay here!" Soda said and they both left.

They're so weird sometimes. I can't handle them. Nobody else really came to the house today, it's like they were all staying away. Kinda made me sad.

I didn't worry about it too much and went to take care of the kids. I got to the nursery and Emily started giving me a really hard time. She was screaming and crying. I heard Nolan start to yell from the other room, he probably just wanted to cuddle.

I was so overwhelmed that I started to cry. Everything  going on with Darry didn't help either. I let the tears fall down my face. I heard the door open and someone walk towards the room.

"Who is it?" I asked as normally as I could. No reply. I started to get really scarred.

I slowly looked around the corner to see Darry standing there. Tears started forming in his eyes which didn't help mine.

I ran over to him and hugged him so fast. He stumbled a little because he wasn't 100% yet. I looked up at his face, as soon as I did so I was greeted with a kiss. It was long and sweet.

"Where are the kids?" He asked softly with a smile.
I just pointed to their rooms, he went to go see Nolan and I went to go grab Emily.

I heard Nolan yell, "DADA!" And Darry laughing. I tried to quiet Emily down but it wasn't working. Darry came into the room holding Nolan. He placed him back on the floor and his eyes set on the screaming baby.

He just smiled. He's only seen her once and it's been almost a week. Even though she's a new born, she's grown. He walked over and picked her up. He kissed her head and started rocking her. Her cries died down. I picked up Nolan and we went into a group hug.
