SYNOPSIS

25 August 2020
(Netherlands)

It were but normal days and nights. Everyone working and making a hustle out of everything they can find. Men died, women were killed and children were born. Just your average day in the European plains of the Netherlands. Not that it meant something bad but that these things happened every day, and it bothered or shocked no one. Criminal activity was but average like any other country. Until, the news out of the Netherlands came. A gas leak which infected almost 6000 people was aired on the news all over the world. It came as a small fever and involved heavy coughing. The victims were quarantined but of course, others were also infected.

1 Week Later

The progress involving the sickness was kept secret from the public eye. The infected were quarantined in a distant and private military zone. The Dutch government denied any claims of a potential pandemic. But of course, this wasn't the case. No matter how much they tried to hide it, eventually the truth would be set free. No matter how harsh or brutal it may be.

3 Weeks Later

The Dutch news program reported aggression and brutal manslaughter from the natives themselves. 230 people died or were brought away by the military to the secret quarantine zone. But still, the Dutch government assured people that everything was under control and there was no need to panic. But this message wasn't received kindly. Over 2300 flights were organized in just 3 days. The population of the Netherlands went from 17 million people to 6 Million in just 4 days. But not even that would convince the government to speak out and tell the truth.

4 Weeks Later

More and more people were showing sudden signs of aggression and in most of the cases, cannibalism. Over 2 days, any news regarding the Netherlands was completely shut down. The airports were still open but there was an awful unrest within the country itself. But not the government or natives were talking straight.

5 Weeks Later

In the small South American country of Suriname, signs of sudden aggression and cannibalism among people started to show. The natives had no clear conclusion on what they were dealing with and just described the causes of the unknown attacks as terrorism. The USA, some countries in Europe and Asia also reported the same and formed an alliance against the Dutch secret agenda. Or so they called it. Soon, theorists all over the world started to describe these attacks as zombies. But not all people took this seriously. The terrorists theory became common and any inside information was kept secret from the public.

6 Weeks Later

The world turned into complete chaos. Suddenly, there were more so called terrorists attacking but the public didn't know that the attackers were infected. Soon as the attacks became too common in most countries, all governments started to speak out. Even the WHO described this as a worldwide pandemic. They called it the Trunibal virus, though they didn't explain why. The natives of each country started to riot against their own government. And that's when things got out of hand. The day when people realized that it weren't terrorists. But actual zombies attacked the crowds. From that day on, it was all about...survival. Millions got infected in some countries. In Suriname, there were thousands. People lost their loved ones, their family and contacts. Phones were still useful but not for long. People were trying to get in touch with each other. When they found each other, it didn't last long. Eventually, more and more people died.

20 Weeks Later

In the USA, only 2 states were in control. California and New York. The rest were filled with zombies and cruel survivors. The US military send out soldiers and Marines to different countries for unknown reasons. They claimed to offer assistance but everyone knew that the USA was after something more. Especially Suriname, who were once owned as a colony by the USA for over 150 years. Suriname claimed independence in 1975, hence why the first language is English. The Surinamese military were but a few and were weak as a group. When the soldiers and Marines saw this, they took over and started rebuilding in certain areas. Strongholds, borders, cities, everything. They even searched for survivors but were left red faced when none of the natives were friendly and tried to kill them. They soon started repopulating the country by bringing over their own. They did this to several countries around Europe and Asia. Soon they had to deal with rebel groups such as the Red Raiders. More and more started to form and were at war with each other, the Americans and the zombies.

28 Weeks Later

A massive war broke out between the rebel groups and the american military. They fought because of the city of Paramaribo. The major city of Suriname. In the end, the rebel groups won and started to fight each other for total domination. But even then, they underestimated the zombies as they took over from the rebel groups. The city is as of now, crawling with them. Lone survivors started to join the rebel groups as their ultimate goal is to take full control of the once beautiful country they called, Suriname.

52 Weeks Later

The Marines secretly took over the city of Brentwood in Brokopondo. It wasn't that crowded and were able to repopulate quite nicely. The USA now had 5 states in control and still had a tough fight against the zombies. The zombies themselves were evolving as time went on. Which means that they became smarter and could last longer without consuming. No one knew how the Trunibal Virus came to be. But what they do know, is that it started in the Netherlands.

89 Weeks Later

The city of Brentwood now had 12000 people. Marines, soldiers and citizens alike. All of them were American. Their secret agenda was still unknown to the natives themselves. But they didn't want to start trouble or be reckless for no reason. They waited and waited, and surely time would tell what they were truly after.

95 Weeks Later

The Marines scouted nearby areas for survivors. They rarely found tracks or clues to point out that they were still alive. But somehow they knew, that the natives were alive and still surviving. The zombies became more frequent to see or track than any other potential native. And so, the Marines dubbed the surviving natives as 'The Remaining Few'. Because now, there were probably so few that it would be impossible for them to find. Suriname wasn't a big country, so they had faith that they would find something sooner or later.

104 Weeks Later

Everything that has happened up to now, is unpredictable. No one knows what will happen next. The USA ship some food and supplies for their own as they reproduce in their homeland. The world governments have fallen, countries have been completely destroyed and no one sees this stopping anytime soon. What they make for themselves is completely up to them. No light hearted soul could survive a few hours outside. It had to be hardened or cold enough to last a day. The second thing needed to survive is instinct. There was absolutely no time to work or survive tactically. No modern plan ever made sense or worked. Life turned out completely different than expected. The USA lost nearly all states and now had only 2 states in control. New York and Washington DC. How other countries coped with survival, was unknown.
