1 Day Ago- The Red Raiders Hideout-

Maddox had 2 test subjects in place. One human, one zombie, one supposed cure. The people in the room didn't feel confident at all about the experiment. But Maddox, he wanted a breakthrough after all these restless months. Something that could give their forsaken lives meaning.

Maddox went over to the human test subject and spoke to him. He held his shoulder and went closer to his ear.

"I bet you already know why I chose you. Don't you?" Asked Maddox in his heavy voice. The human test subject shook. He couldn't stop breathing fast and heavily. He knew what Maddox does to the soldiers who don't follow the rules. His head laid back on the chair as he was ashamed to speak.

"I've seen a lot of things in my field of business. But your type disgusts me the most. The boy will now be traumatized for the rest of his life. As if he hasn't got other things to be traumatized about. Instead, it's you. The person who is supposed to be watching his back. Support and be there for each other. You shame us all and everything what the Red Raiders stand for." Said Maddox to the human test subject. He had raped one of the young soldiers in the bathroom and left him there. The boy was gutted and ashamed to be able to tell Maddox himself. But in the end, he did.

Maddox has dealt with these kinds of people way too much. The one who thinks above of the other.

"My father always used to say. There are two types of bad people. One who knows what he's doing and one who doesn't. The difference is blurry. But in the end, they all hurt someone. So tell me. Which one fits you? It'll all be the same afterwards so don't expect a different treatment according to your answer. You would be highly mistaken." Said Maddox as he looked at one of his soldiers, who was ready for the experiment to start.

The human test subject didn't dare to speak. It was only a struggle to get loose. Meanwhile, the zombie test subject kept on growling. The adrenaline in its body was overwhelming. It was known to have that. They gave the zombie a light sedation and were about to start.

Maddox gave the order to inject both of them with the Devolving Agent. The human test subject was given it first while the zombie got it secondly. They were expecting the zombie's body to break down but nothing really happened as of yet.

"So..what happens now?" Asked one of the soldiers in the room. He was very nervous. It was either a hit or a miss. Maddox replied "We give them 10 minutes. After that, we'll see. It works either 2 ways. It makes the humans immune to the virus or...the zombie's body breaks down completely and starts dying. From each point, we'll know what to do." in a calming fashion.

Red came over to stand next to Maddox in case anything goes wrong. But he believed in everything Maddox said. So his first conclusion was that it would work either way. The human test subject started sweating immensely. He felt a warm breeze through his body and it wasn't the air outside. It was extremely uncomfortable. He tasted a foul taste in his mouth. Something that felt similar to the breeze going through his body right now.

"What happens if it works?" Asked one of the soldiers. Maddox replied with "We start replicating the last sample. We'll see what happens next."

After the 10 minutes, the zombie started to gain its consciousness. It started growling and screaming. Like a normal human being would be in a shock state. A few of the Raiders tied its neck with a thick iron necklace to keep it at bay. The loosened the handcuffs and the zombie started to force its way to the Raiders. But once it figured out that the effort was going to be for nothing, it became calm and grunted all the way through.
