Janus was watching the human sitting on their bed and texting on their phone when he heard a buzzing noise. He and the human looked up to see a fly trapped in the house and bumping against the window. The human walked over and opened the window. Janus watched the fly go back outside as the human smiled and sat back down.
"Why would the human care about such a small creature? They're so tall," Janus thought to himself. He then entered the wall again, since he already got what he had come to look for, food. He had a rather small strawberry, a lot smaller than they normally were, so it wasn't to hard to bring to his base. He was just happy the human's pet dog was asleep. The next day he thought he could hear the human singing. Janus knew that he shouldn't look but he was curious to hear what the song was. Once he got to the other side of the house he found the human with earbuds in, most likely listening to a song. Janus had no idea the human could sing but they were really good at it. He was standing on the human's table, behind a jar of coins. He sat down and continued to listen as the human sang. He knew he shouldn't be staying out in the open for so long but the singing wasn't as clear when he was the wall. Plus, the human was far enough away that he'd be able to run if they noticed him, right?
He ended up sitting there for a while but he froze when he heard something behind him. He turned around swiftly to see the human's dog. Luckily he was atop the table, the dog couldn't get him up there, right? Wrong. The dog put his paws against the table staring at him, probably seeing him as his next chew toy. Janus backed up a bit as the dog jumped up on the seat next to the table. He looked next to the dog where his fish line and hook was. How could he get down without it? He couldn't grab it either as the dog would take the chance to eat him up. Janus' eyes went wide as he realized he was cornered. He wasn't about to go jump off the side of the table, he would most likely break his legs or another bone and the dog would just go to where he fell to eat him. The dog began to try and get on the table and Janus looked over to the human. They normally would get the dog down from the table if they caught her but he doubted the human would notice. Turning back to the dog, she was still struggling to get up, which bought him sometime. He looked over to the jar, and he noticed it was at the edge of the table. Maybe if he could push it off the human would look over to see the dog? There was a good chance they'd see him too, but what other choice did he have? He took in a deep breath and walked over to the jar. It would be heavy but he had to get the human's attention! He used his shoulder to push. Fortunately there weren't to many coins and the jar was rather small so he was able to at least budge it closer. It was just starting to get off the edge, just a bit more and he'd be able to push it off. He pushed again and the jar fell, he almost fell too but he caught himself before going down with it. He flinched back as the jar crashed on the floor, scattering broken glass and coins. Then he noticed the human turn towards him and he felt a shiver running down his spine. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea...
