Janus got his food, which was good, but he still didn't have his hook. He had no way down from the counter and Patton had already left to his laptop. Plus, Janus was way to scared to call him over for a few reasons. Two of the biggest being how small he was in comparison, and the fact that if he called Patton over, then he'd get caught stealing food.
He didn't want to believe that he'd hurt him but Patton was so big and who knows how he'd react to Janus being a little food thief. He looked around, looking for a way out of this situation. From now on he would definitely have to be a lot more attentive to his tools. He'd forgot his needle twice now and his hook too this time. He groaned and set down the raisin as he walked around the edges of the counter. There was no way down, other than jumping which he already decided against.
Janus laid down on the counter, not even caring about the raisin anymore. Maybe he'd just wait here, eat the other raisin when he got hungry and stay up here for the rest of his life. It'd be ok so long as Patton didn't do anything to him, which he doubted he would. He'd have food right next to him and it'd be a lot more dangerous to get water from the sink than the broken pipe he had that he could unplug by switching out tape but.. This could work.. He looked over to Patton, still doing stuff on his laptop, then back at the raisin. It was only one raisin... at least only one Patton would know of.
He stood up. He couldn't believe he was about to try this. He doubted Patton would hear him but he'd much rather get back to his home than begin a new life on Patton's kitchen counter.
"P-Patton..." He said, but it barely came out as a whisper. He was still so scared, despite how nice he'd been to him so far. He took a deep breath and mustered up some courage.
"Patton!!" He called, cupping his hands around his mouth. He opened his eyes to see Pat looking around, obviously confused. A bit of hope flashed through Janus as he realized Patton could hear him.
Cupping his mouth again he shouted, "Patton, on the counter!" The human turned his head over to the counter, noticing Janus. He looked confused but came over anyways, kneeling beside the counter.
"What's up kiddo?" He asked gently.
"Umm... Im kinda stuck.." Patton eyes widened as he realized he trapped the poor thing up here.
"O-oh! I'm so sorry! Do you need help down?" He slowly set his hand down, palm up, next to Janus. Hesitantly, he walked over to the raisin, picking it up and looking at Patton, but the human didn't seem to be upset in the least that he'd taken a raisin. Hiding his surprise, he went onto Patton's hand with the raisin under his arm.
After picking him up Patton asked where the little guy needed to go.
"You could just set me on the floor.. that'd be fine."
They stared at each other for a moment before Patton slowly brought his hand to the floor.
"There you go kiddo, sorry for trapping you up there..." Patton slowly stood back up and backed away to give him space. He smiled one last time than went over and sat back down at his computer.
Instead of going back to his house though, Janus felt the urge to go talk to the human again. He knew how dangerous it was but he saw how bored Patton looked just staring at the computer screen, or maybe that was an excuse he'd convinced himself of to go over... He took a moment then decided to walk across the floor to where Patton sat. After getting next to him he began having second thoughts but tugged on the human's pant leg anyway. Patton turned to look down at him, a confused look on his face once again. Janus cowered a bit under his stare but stood up straight again. He raised his arms up, trying to motion to the human he wanted to be picked up. Patton seemed to understand as he reached down, to scoop Janus up and he set him next to his laptop.
"Whatcha need kiddo?" Janus felt embarrassed now. He didn't actually need anything he kinda just wanted to.. hang out. He looked up at Patton.
"I- I kinda wanted to.. hang out.. I guess.." Patton looked down at him, Janus seemed nervous after saying that, like he had done something wrong. He backed up a bit.
"Er- uh, never mind... you can just put me back on the ground, it doesn't matter..." Patton smiled softly,
"No it's fine. If you wanna do something we could watch a movie." A movie? He could tell the human was being genuine, which honestly... confused him.
"Uh.. sure?"
Patton gently scooped him up and headed to the couch and tv. He turned on the tv with his free hand and asked Janus if there was a movie he wanted to watch.
"I've never seen a movie before so put on whatever you'd like..." Patton hummed putting Janus on his head then he looked through the movies. Janus was a bit startled to be put up there but settled down quickly. He could easily see the tv up here and, oddly, he felt... safe. He smiled to himself. He was glad that the he got to meet the human, Patton was rather nice to him and this seemed like it'd be fun.
