Roman watched as the human was watching another movie. (Ah yes, people watching.) He heard the Disney theme and jumped up. He loved watching the Disney movies but it'd take a while to get up to the vent he normally watched them from. It was a really bad idea but he didn't want to miss a part of the movie.. So he headed over towards the couch. He could've sworn he saw the human look at him but it was probably his imagination, he did have a rather strong one. He made sure to stay out of the human's sight though. He walked all the way over to the couch and now he was behind it. He took in a breath as he started climbing up. He made sure he'd be behind the human's head though, he didn't want to risk getting caught.
God, sometimes his courage was too much for his own good. He was sitting on top of the couch now, near the human's head but still behind it, which he thought'd be a safe distance. He knew how dangerous this was but seeing the movie up this close was breathtaking and he wasn't scared in the slightest.
Suddenly, out of no where, the human turned around and grabbed Roman. He let out a yelp as he felt the hand wrap around him. The human paused the movie to stare at the little guy.
"Did you really think I couldn't tell you were there??" They laughed a bit and Roman scowled.
"Let me go!" He ordered. The human then changed his hold on Roman, now just grabbing the back of his shirt with two fingers.
"I doubt it'd be a good idea to let you go." Roman looked down to see the drop. He began squirming around, wishing the human would hold him like he had before, at least that way he wasn't dangling. The human saw how uncomfortable he looked and placed him down on the palm of his hand. Roman sighed, at least he was on a solid surface. He looked up at the human's face and regretted ordering him to put him down. He paled when he realized at any moment he could get squashed or dropped.
After a moment the human got up and brought him to a table, setting him down. Roman looked around and noticed he still had hands on either side of the table so if he tried to run he'd probably get grabbed again. Roman stared up at the human, cowering. He regretted moving here at all..
"Hi there little fella!" The human set his head down on the table to get at eye level. Roman backed up and flinched at the loud noises, but there wasn't really anything he could do.
"C'mon! I know you understand me, you always watch the movies." Always?! How long had the human known he existed? And why hadn't he trapped him till now?
"He probably only got me now because I got so close to him.." Roman sat down and held his legs against himself with his arms. Not daring to look away.
"You really aren't going to talk to me??" Roman got nervous, had he made him mad? Then he saw the human smirk. That only made him feel worse.
"What if I eat you if you don't talk to me?" Roman's eyes widened. The human wouldn't actually do that would he?!
He didn't want to risk it.
"H-hi! I can talk! P-please don't eat me!!" He said, bringing his head to his knees and tensing up. He was close to crying but he didn't want to seem too weak... he already felt helpless enough.
"O-oh you actually believed me?" The human paused, not knowing what to do. "I won't eat'cha, I promise.. I wouldn't hurt you little buddy." Roman looked up to see the human looking down with a guilt-ridden face. He felt a wave of relief knowing he wasn't going to be eaten.
"Umm.. my name is Remus.." The human said, breaking the silence.
"I-I'm Roman.. now can you please let me go?" He tried to sound confident in the last part but it came out as a plea.
