Patton had been walking with Virgil when a bee came over. He cowered and froze till the buzzing stopped. When he looked around Virgil had left. He sighed, Virgil was probably busy looking around at everything. He began to walk back towards Roman but froze again as he saw a familiar person walking down the side walk. He backed up a bit then tried to stay hidden in the grass. He squirmed a bit as he got picked up from the back of his shirt but immediately froze again. His old owner had gotten him. He opened his eyes to see the human continue walking. After a few seconds he felt the uncomfortably familiar feeling of fingers wrapping around his torso. It ached and the bandages he had there wouldn't be able to help anymore. He hoped they wouldn't be mad he'd gotten help, he already knew they'd be mad he'd run away. They pulled him up as they opened the door and they set him down in a jar. His heart sank but he pushed that away. Roman would find a way to get him back... right?

. . .

Right...?

The human came back and put the lid on the jar. He saw them bend down to be at eye level and they gave him a sorrowful and sympathetic look.
"You know you can't run away.. If you do it something bad might happen to you. I thought I'd lost you but here you are again.." Patton shivered as he heard their voice. They had a gentle tone but it was more of a threat than a comfort. There was no way Roman or Virgil could get him away from them... It was a miracle he'd gotten from them the first time and.. it was fun while it lasted... Now he was back to basically being this human's stress toy. They stood up and walked away. Patton curled up. Getting to leave and meeting a nice human... Getting to see Virgil again... He knew it was to good to last.

Roman woke up to his doorbell ring. He sighed. How late had he stayed up last night? He checked the time and called into work for a sick day as he went over to his front door. Once he hung up, he opened the door and his brother basically tackled him in a hug. He stumbled back a bit but caught himself before falling over.
"It's good to see you too, Remus..."
"So whats all this stuff about your neighbor?" Roman lead him over to his room and he woke Virgil up. The tiny was a bit startled but when he saw Roman he just seemed confused.
"This is Virgil, Virgil this is my brother, Remus." His brother stared at Virgil with wide eyes.
"Woah! I've never seen a tiny in real life..." After a bit of the two just looking at each other Virgil broke eye contact and looked over to Roman.
"So.. What's he here for?" Remus looked over to his brother then back to Virgil again.
"Well little dude, ima help you get the other little guy back. I have game nights with the neighbor who's assumably got him sometimes."
"And when's the next game night thing...?"
"Uhh, Saturday. Why?" Virgil shifted back and forth for a moment.
"How many days till Saturday?" Roman checked his phone.
"Well it's Friday so we have to wait one day. Remus, does the neighbor know you'd be bringing me? Like, do you need to ask first?" Remus pulled out his phone.
"Good point! Ima ask now." Roman looked over to Virgil again as his brother called.
"Hello! So my mom is making me and my brother hang out on the day we'd planned our next game night because she thinks we've drifted apart so I was wondering if he'd be able to come over." Roman rolled his eyes at the lie his brother had twisted out. The person on the other side of the phone said something before hanging up. Remus seemed kinda surprised but shrugged. Virgil looked up again.
"So that means..?"
"You can come!" Remus turned to his brother. "So, what game are you bringing?"

"So Virgil, what do you think?" Virgil turned back up to the two. He probably hadn't been listening.
"Uh.. about what exactly...?" Remus laughed and Roman glared at his brother for a moment.
"Well, Remus is gonna get us over there and you'll have to come with.. After we get in you'll have to find Patton then help him get out." Virgil nodded
"Mkay, sounds good.."

Patton was rather surprised when his owner took him out of the jar. It had only been a day so for the human to let him out now that meant... Patton stumbled backwards as he was set on the table. They immediately started apologizing for things they'd done before and talked about things that had been happening at work. Patton couldn't help feeling a little sympathetic. He knew they wouldn't try to fix anything they did but Patton hated seeing them sad, even if it was just an act.. He knew they knew he'd feel sorry for them and that they used it against him but he couldn't just stop caring... The human sighed again.
"Do you think you could forgive me, Morgan?" He tensed up at hearing his old name but nodded. He felt the last bit of hope he had been clinging to slip away. The human gave a sly smile then scooped M-Patton up. He hated when the human would do the whole forgive me act but at least they were rather gentle for a few days... They set him on a shelf with one of those plastic doll houses. After the human left he went inside. It still hurt to put pressure on his foot but it wasn't to much pain. He immediately went to look for a spot to hide. There was a compartment he was able to hide in once but the human already knew about that one. He knew that they'd be gentle with him for at least the rest of the day but if he could hide he'd be safe for a few... After a while he found one and he felt a spark of hope again. He went inside of it and closed it as he sighed. Roman and Virgil would be fine without him.

Roman hadn't been able to sleep. He really hoped they'd be able to get Patton back... He checked the time. 3:47 am.. He looked over to where Patton normally was and noticed Virgil was.. trembling? Roman sat up.
"Virgil..? Are you ok?" There wasn't a response. He got up then crouched next to the nightstand. "Virgil, are you awake?" After another moment of silence he assumed the tiny was sleeping. Virgil kept trembling and started to toss and turn. Roman scooped him up. He knew that he shouldn't wake him up if he was having a nightmare so he just sat down as he looked at the tiny. He felt.. kinda guilty for not being able to help.

After a while Virgil shot up and started to gasp for air. Roman stopped himself from flinching at the little thing's sudden movement.
"Hey, Virgil, it's ok.. It's just me..." Virgil's breathing slowed a bit and he clung to one of Roman's fingers. "What happened? Did you have a nightmare?" Virgil shuddered then nodded.
"B-but it's ok... I- I'm ok.." There was a moment of silence as Roman let Virgil calm himself a bit more.
"So.. since your up now would you want to watch a show or something?" Roman hoped he could get Virgil's mind off whatever his nightmare had been.
"W-well.. I mean I guess, s-sure.."

Virgil seemed to have calmed down a lot now. Roman had put on A Nightmare Before Christmas and the tiny seemed to like it but Roman barley focused on the movie. In the back of his mind he was worried about Patton and now he was trying to make sure Virgil was ok. He took his phone out to check the time again. 4:26.. Roman looked down to Virgil who was still entranced by the movie but he seemed to keeping dazing off.
"Are you tired?" Virgil looked up to Roman and shook his head.
"No way.." The tiny looked back to the movie and continued to nod off.
"If you're tired you can go to bed. If you're staying up cause you don't wanna miss the movie we can continue it tomorrow."
Virgil shook his head again.
"I'm not worried about that.. And I'm not tired!" Roman sighed.
"Virgil, if something's bothering you, you can tell me. And I know you're tired because you keep almost falling asleep. You should get more rest, it's good for you..."
"But-" Virgil stopped and sighed. "I- I don't want to go to sleep... and you can't force me to anyways." The tiny turned away again to hide a yawn.
"Why don't you want to go to sleep?" Virgil didn't respond for a while.
"...What if I have another nightmare? It was so.. vivid.." Virgil shuddered again and Roman frowned.
"Well whatever it was, it was only a dream. Everything's going to be ok and.. I'll keep you safe... Plus, you kinda need sleep so..." Virgil glared at him.
"Like I said, I'm not tired. Plus, what about your sleep schedule? You stay up a lot too!" Roman sighed cause he was right. He doubted there was much he could do to convince them to sleep but he'd try anyway.
"Well then... I'll sleep if you do?" Virgil shook his head, turning back to the movie. "I'm not tired." Roman scoffed but didn't push it any further. He knew Virgil would fall asleep eventually anyway.

And that he did.
Both the two ended up falling asleep.

Roman woke up to his doorbell ringing. He looked down to Virgil and gently set him on the arm of the couch. Roman went over and opened the door to see his brother. Remus basically let himself in after the door was unlocked then paused.
"So, you ready to go? Where's the little dude?" Roman pointed to the couch.
"I'll wake him up and then we can go."
