A Tiny Problem (One-shot)

Summary: Logan shrinks and gets caught under a bowl, he's nervous as to what might happen when he gets help from an unusual stranger.
Word count: 2732 (If you include this bit, the story is 2660)

Logan fiddled with the device he had made. He finally finished it. This was the second one though, he hadn't wanted to test the first on himself but the device did work. Unfortunately, he had to make a new one as he couldn't get the first back.

He made a device that could shrink things.

He'd been working on this for a few months now, though he hadn't told either of his roommates about it. He was sitting on the couch, just staring down at the device in his hands. He wanted to try it but if he had messed up then who knows what could happen. He just had to trust it would work again since the last time a test proved it successful, it was too small for him to get it to grow again... Yet his curiosity got the better of him. He had originally made it in plans to do this anyway, he had no reason to, just.. felt like he should. He knew it was illogical but he didn't care anymore. He fixed it onto his belt and tried it out.
It worked.

Logan looked around at everything that was now towering over him. It didn't scare him though, this was still the same apartment. He began to walk across the floor and headed to see the rest of the house. He heard the door open but thought nothing of it, it was just Patton. Of course, he probably should've thought about how Patton might react to him before dismissing his arrival so simply.

Logan flinched a bit, turning around as he heard a shrill shriek from Pat. A bowl was placed over him before he could even register the scream. He felt the vibrations of his roommates feet as Pat dashed off. He had probably thought Logan was a spider and was waiting for Roman to get home to help. He shuddered and hoped he wouldn't be squashed.

After a moment he noticed the bowl begin to lift a bit and heard an unfamiliar voice urge him out. He got out from underneath and gasped as he saw a tiny human in front of him. Well, from his perspective the tiny thing was actually taller than him, only by a few inc- well at this size he was probably a centimeter taller than Logan, which doesn't seem like much until you realize he was probably only 4 1/2 inches tall.

His was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the door open and his mind went back to Patton and Roman. Before he could do anything he felt the person in front of him grab his arm and drag him out of the open and into the wall. He was pulled through a tiny hole Logan had never noticed, which was surprising given it was about 5 inches tall, and pulled further from the opening.

"Why had you been standing out in the open? Did you not hear the door open? Who knows what the human could've done to you if I didn't get you out from under the bowl.." Logan was rather surprised to hear the worry in this stranger's voice.
"Thank you? I was in the open because I hadn't taken into account how.. the human.. would react to me." It felt odd to address Patton as 'human'. "I doubt he would've hurt me but i'm glad to not under the bowl anymore." At that the person ahead stopped and spun, looking him in the eyes.
"You doubt he would've hurt you? Have you even heard of humans before?! Of course he would've hurt you! Look at us then think of them! We're like dirt to them, we're so small. Imagine what could've happened if he found you, they'd know we exist..." He turned back around and continued taking Logan somewhere. He was stunned.

They continued in silence until they got to what resembled a room. It probably was a room, the person's room.

"Care to re-explain as to why you'd go out in the open like that? If you'd been caught then the whole of our people could've been revealed." Logan's eyes widened. So there were more of them, many more. He refocused on what the person said.

"I was in the open cause I know him, he wouldn't hurt me." He heard the other gasp.

"You know them?!" Logan realized he probably shouldn't have said that but there was no out now.
