To Become a Stranger

When I found you, I lost myself

When I first met love, I invited ignorance

When my heart hurt because of you, I looked to you to ease the pain

When I looked at myself, all I could see was us

And it got to the point, where I couldn't look at my reflection in the mirror without seeing someone you used to love

And it got to the point, where I knew I couldn't continue to be that person

When I found myself, I lost you

When I first met self-love, I invited change

When my heart hurts, I turn to myself

When I look at myself, I see what I am now because of you.

And it's gotten to the point, where I can look at my reflection the mirror without seeing someone you used to love.

Because in reality,

You never did.
