To Make Amends • Kylo Ren/ Ben Solo x reader

• Chapter 24 •

I was lying down, almost asleep when I felt a different presence than that of Ras outside my door. I knew who it was immediately.

Before he even had the to knock I said, "Come in..." groggily.

I knew I didn't have to shout, I mean he could literally hear my thoughts. The door opened and the light from outside my room seeped inside.

"(Y/n) what are you doing?" Kylo asked.

"What?" I said quietly.

"Why aren't you staying in our bed?" He asked coming closer to my bed.

I was too tired to completely process what he had said but the word our, kept replaying in my hazy sleepy mind. "I...don't..." I was falling asleep, I didn't even finish my sentence.

I heard him faintly, chuckling. All of a sudden I was encased in warmth. He had picked me up, he carried me back to his quarters and into his room. He placed me gently on the bed and slid in beside me.

I shuffled closer to him, cuddling up to him. It was much nicer there. I nodded off into a deep sleep.

I was getting tired of fighting but I had to press on. Eventually we had finally taken them all out and I looked around at the throne room, horrified.

"(Y/n) Please i'm begging you, come with me." He pleaded with me, reaching his hand out.

"I'm so sorry I can't Kylo, you know I can't but you can come with me...Ben can come with me" I said through tears.

I woke abruptly from my dream...or nightmare. I felt tears streaming down my face. It was the same one I had on Droch. This time it felt even more real, there was more to it.

Kylo sat up, "(Y/n)...Whats the matter?" He asked, in a husky, sleepy voice.

"Oh, i'm sorry did I wake you?" I said looking at him.

"It's alright. (Y/n), why are you crying?" He asked, a concerned expression spreading across his face.

"Don't worry. I'm alright. Just a bad dream, that's all." I assured him, faking a soft smile. 

"Are you sure?" He said putting his hand, lovingly on my shoulder. The reminiscence of a worried look still on his face.

"Yes, i'm sure." I said placing my hand on top of his.

We both got up and I went to leave to go back to my room so I could get changed but Kylo stopped me.

"Wait. Where are you going?" He said.

"Well I was uh- I was going to have a shower and get changed." I said, wondering why he was asking.

"I-I had your clothes brought here, to our room." He said, looking a little awkward.

"Is this your way of asking me to move into your quarters, Kylo?" I said smirking.

"Well you spend most of your time here anyway, don't you?" He seemed a little flustered.

"I was joking. I suppose I do spend most of my time in here." I giggled.

I had a shower, it was lovely, soapy and warm. When I stepped out I wrapped a towel around myself and walked back into Kylo's room. He showed me where all my clothes were kept now. I took the robes because I remembered that Kylo had said, Snoke wanted to see me.

I was about to change into them, but I realised that Kylo was still in the room. I hesitated for a moment then turned around to face him.

"I'm going to get dressed now..." I said.

"Okay?" He looked at me, confused as to why I told him, but it was because I felt weird getting changed in front of him.

"Can you...you know, turn around." I gestured turning around with my hand.

"Really, (Y/n)?" He chuckled.

"Yes, B-Kylo" I almost slipped up, calling him Ben. I couldn't help it, when he laughs or smiles it just brings back memories of stories Leia would tell me about her son.

Luckily, he didn't aknowledge the fact that I almost called him Ben. "Fine, Fine..." he said turning slowly, whilst still laughing quietly to himself.

As soon as he turned around, I quickly changed my clothes. Instead of putting on the usual black cloak that was with the robes, I decided to put on the light blue silky on that Kylo gave me. I towel dried my hair, then I was done and ready to go.

"Okay you can turn back around now." I said. He turned around and looked at me, "Ta-daaa!" I smiled.

He walked over to me and put his arms around my waist. He laced his fingers through my hair and pulled me into a soft tender kiss. It was only momentary but it was wonderful.

"You look gorgeous." Kylo's said pulling away from me.

"Thank you" I smiled sheepishly.

Just before we left, Kylo stopped me, "(Y/n) I have something for you.".

"Another gift? Wow, I really am being spoiled." I joke in a fancy voice.

He walked over and pulled something from underneath his bed, it was a staff. It looked just like my fathers one. I used to use my fathers staff before I joined the resistance.

I gasped as he put it in my hands, "Kylo how did you even know about this?".

"How often are you going to forget, that I can hear and see your thoughts." He smiled.

I spun it around, doing a bit of an impressive move. "Ha, still got it! Thank you so much." I hugged him. Then I pulled the strap around myself and let the staff sit comfortably on my back.

"You're very welcome."

We headed for his command shuttle, walking side by side. It was nice, compared to when I used to walk behind him. As we boarded his command shuttle, I could feel Kylo becoming more tense. I, in turn, was feeling more tense than usual.

I hadn't thought much of it before but it hit me as we were on our way to the supremacy. Snoke wanted to see me, and I had no idea why. What could he possibly want from me? I don't understand. I don't know why my presence, of all people's, was requested. I wish someone would just tell me.

Kylo turned to me, he had obviously heard my thoughts, I wasn't exactly focused on blocking them. He, however didn't say anything. The tension within him just grew and grew, the closer we got to the supremacy.
