Sage

Nathaniel had left for Gervase a while ago. Ethan and I were at my place. He wanted to stay and figure out these attacks.

"Have you spoken to Ezra recently?" He asked out of nowhere.

"Not since Sicily" i said taking a sip of blood from my glass. "I tried to contact him but it's no use"

"He likes disappearing. You know that." He said. Ezra did like disappearing for a while. But he would usually give us a heads up or something. I knew he was safe but at the same time I had a feeling he wasn't alright.

"This is not a very good time to go on vacation Ethan"

He smirked to my response. And walked over to the liquor cabinet. "Well....we might as well get started with this shit then " and pulled out a bottle of Bourbon.

"I'm not feeling like going through this sober...I'm already losing my mind" he added with a smirk forming on his lips.

He was about to take a step towards me when he turned back to the cabinet and grabbed two more. He knew we would need alot more than one bottle.

He poured the glasses out and walked over to where I was sitting. He handed me a glass and sat down on the couch opposite me crossing his leg over the other. His eyes never left the fireplace infront of us the entire time.

"We might have to call in a witch or two" he said as he took a sip.

"I know" . I wasn't very thrilled by the idea. I know not all of them are bad. But as far as witches are concerned...they are unpredictable and you can never really tell their real intentions. Besides they always have a favor to ask for in return.

"You're clenching your jaw" I heard his voice. His blue eyes were on me. I didn't realise what I was doing until he mentioned it.

"We haven't worked with witches since the war you know" my voice almost sounded annoyed. Maybe I was. I didn't want to be here.

I grabbed the bottle of Bourbon and poured more into my glass. A couple of glasses wasn't going to help me. That was the only bad thing about being a vampire in my opinion.

"Sage" his eyes were intense and furrowed. "Why did the war start?"

"Ahhh" i smiled sarcastically. I wasn't in the mood to tell a long story but I did have a few bottles of Bourbon infront of me...

I picked up the Bourbon bottle and handed it to him " you're gonna need more of this for that story" I said as he more than willingly reached for it.

It was quite a long story. And I wasn't drunk enough to tell the whole thing yet. I didn't even know the whole thing myself. I just got involved in it because of my brother and his alliances and stupid decisions.

I downed my glass and started.

"So this was back in the day when Pheonix Hunter was one of the most poweful pure bloods ..." I looked at Ethan to make sure he was listening. "He was a maniac. Bloodthirsty and Wild."

"He's still powerful". Ethan added. Well he was technically still the King of Huntley so he kind of had to be.

"Yes but he's a little more humbled down now" i responded.

"Anyway " i continued "he was at this Ball at the Cassius Palace in Gervase and apparently he killed on of their slaves and got into a fight with the King and shit just went downhill from there" I slouched down.

"So that's why Huntley and Gervase are still in tensions" he nodded.

I continued with my story downing my glass once again.
