Sage
Axel wasn't happy about this plan and I could see right through it no matter how much he said otherwise.
Donovan?
He freaked out for a second, but soon agreed once he understood exactly what I meant. Besides, all of us just wanted this mess over as soon as possible. And this was the only way we could all assemble together without it looking suspicious.
"You okay?" I slipped off my heels and rested my legs on Axel's lap, across from me.
"Yeah" he kept his eyes outside the window, rubbing my feet.
God, he was perfect, wasn't he? Especially in that charcoal grey blazer. And he had his hair slicked back from running his fingers through it a million times making me wish we took the plane by ourselves.
I looked over at Donovan, who was in the row at the side and he had his face buried in a book. Daniel was flying the plane and Ashton was napping in the back.
Axel jerked his head towards me suddenly, tilting his head as if he was just really my mind and smiled. He unbuckled his seat belt and slid down in the seat next to me, casually as I kept my eyes on him wondering what the hell he's doing.
"You know I can sense when you're turned on, right?" his lips brushed against my skin, his hot breath fanning my earlobe. Oh my gosh.
"Yes I do" I moved back so our lips were grazing "And?"
"Are you trying to take my mind off Hunter?" he tore his eyes away from my mouth and looked up at my eyes.
I sighed.
"Clearly that didn't work. And no, I wasn't trying to do that" I pushed him back and looked out of the window.
"Sage?" Donovan's voice cut off whatever Axel was about to say. I tried to lean over Axel to look at him, but he came and sat down opposite us with a curious look.
"Yes, Donovan" I mimicked his curious tone.
He tucked his book at the side and flashed me a serious expression.
"When is Ezra reaching?" he glanced between Axel and me.
"He's on his way already" I narrowed my eyes trying to remember what he told me last night while I wasn't paying attention.
"They left early. They should be there before us" at least Axel paid attention while he was talking.
"They?" Donovan frowned.
"Ezra, Nathaniel and Ethan" Axel rolled his eyes. I realised Axel didn't dislike Ethan because of me, he just disliked him as a person in general. And honestly, I don't blame him. Ethan tends to come off as cold and arrogant most of the time.
"And the witch?"
Donovan was really jumpy about this. His exact words to me were "I don't want anymore drama than there already is" and I completely understand why. But thankfully Axel was taking this surprisingly well. He wasn't happy at all, and he wasn't fooling anyone, but at the same time he knew it was the right thing to do. So yes, I was incredibly proud of him for that.
"She's coming with Xander later" I replied.
"Wow" he breathed out "So I'm guessing you managed to convince him to bring the kid."
I nodded.
My head hurt just thinking about how long it took to convince Xander to show up, let alone getting him to bring Kinsley. He was a father after all. The hurt that went through me when I lost a child I never even knew was nothing compared to the fear that he must feel for her right now.
