Sage
"So that's it." Ezra put his hands on his hips, not looking very confident in his plan. And that was remarked.
"That's it?" Donovan cocked up a brow.
"Yes"
"You don't look too confident, Ezra" Donovan was sipping a glass of wine, leaning against the huge wooden window frame.
"I'm not used to witch hunts, Donovan. This is best I can come up with. If you have a better plan, then be my guest" Ezra narrowed his eyes at him.
"But that plan depends on the witch, Ezra" Phoenix added.
"Sage?" Ezra looked at me "The witch?"
"She's coming" I answered, more like I was assuring myself and shifted uncomfortably in my seat. The dark walls around us, draped in dark curtains weren't helping either. The castle sure did mirror Hunter's aura. Majestic and towering on the outside. Cold and closed off on the inside.
"She'll be arriving tomorrow noon with Xander," Nathaniel added.
"And if the Wolf King doesn't show up?" Phoenix creased his brows.
"They will be here" I shot back.
"For all our sake, let's hope they will. But just in case they don't, I called in a few witches" Phoenix looked around at all of us before enunciating, holding his hands up "Just in case"
"I don't think ordinary witches will cut it" Axel shook his head. "We'll need someone like Arabella, you know. A strong witch. Someone well accustomed with that kind of dark magic"
"We're overthinking everything again" Ezra's loud voice took everyone's attention.
"You know what? For once he's right" Donovan walked in over to the little table "Let's just stick to this plan"
"You know it's gonna be hard" Nathaniel muttered and I turned towards him. "Capturing them. Even just one. They're powerful"
"They are. But they all need to be together for them to cast the spell. Not one of them is strong enough to do anything alone"
"Yes, but let's not underestimate anyone here…" I'm not sure who said that. I was busy twirling my glass in circles, swirling the dark liquid around before looking up.
"Yes, and they need all of you together for it too. So I think it's best if you all stay as far away from each other as possible tomorrow" Nathaniel looked around at all of us.
"That's a good idea," Donovan agreed.
"But I don't think they're going to come at us in the middle of a supernatural power fest, you know? I mean this place will be crawling in our people" Pheonix was looking down on the desk, shaking his head as if he was speaking to himself "And they're not stupid. They will have a backup plan"
"Don't worry. If anything happens, my men have orders to kill anything that bats a lash" Ezra put his arms over his chest with an arrogant grin.
"This isn't funny, Ezra" Phoenix snapped.
"It isn't. That's why I won't take any chances" Ezra countered.
"You're not turning my Palace into a bloodbath, Ezra" Phoenix snarled.
"That doesn't depend on me anymore" Ezra admonished him.
"Alright," Axel slammed the bottle of Bourbon down on the table "Let's kill the witches first. We can go at each other's throats after that" he practically growled, staring Phoenix down.
