Axel

The closer we got to Cohen, the heavier my instincts began firing up.

I could see the gates at a distance, and my curiosity was peaking at what was going to happen next, but at the same time I knew something bad was going to happen. Something big.

I looked over to the side.

Sage had her head facing out of the window she had rolled down, leaning back as if no one else existed in this car. She didn't speak a word to me or Arabella since her little snap earlier. The only person she spoke to was Nathaniel.

I didn't know Nathaniel, but she seemed to have too much trust in him and vice versa. When she told him to get Xander to gather the Alliyah pack, he asked no questions. It was as if he already knew what was about to happen.

A sudden thud took my attention. I looked over to Sage and she gave me a look and glanced to the back.

"He's awake" she whispered.

This was the first time I had heard her voice in over half an hour.

I turned to glance back too. Arabella was sitting behind my seat, snuggled up to the door. Probably to stay as far far away from Sage as she could be. I wouldn't blame her.

We got closer and the Palace gates swung open for us and we passed through. There was a car already standing in the driveway, Nathaniel was standing against the door looking at our car approach.

I stopped at a little distance and got off the car and Arabella followed.
Nathaniel gave us a nod and began walking towards us. His eyes looked so different. That spark and playfulness from earlier was gone, replaced by something else. Something intense.

Sage got off the car and looked at him with that same vague expression.

"Where is he?" his voice was hoarse and low.

"In the trunk" she glanced at me.

I walked around back and opened up the trunk to find a pair of golden eyes staring back at me.

"Hello Stefan" I smirked at him.

He didn't say a word. He just snared at me and tried to jump out or attack us, but I didn't give him a chance. I grabbed him by the throat and pulled him out of the trunk.

"I've had a shitty night Stefan. Do not make it worse" i hissed at him.

"I'm not scared of you Axel. There's nothing any of you could do to me that'll scare me" his teeth were clenched, his eyes held nothing but raw disgust.

"I think we can figure something out" I smirked at him.

"I'll take him" Nathaniel stood beside me, eyeing Stefan like he could tear him apart that very instant.

I threw Stefan at Nathaniel and walked back to the front where Sage was leaning, on the front of the car, looking a little weak...he skin was beginning to lose colour.

"When was the last time you fed?" I sat beside her.

"The night we left for Cohen" she muttered low.

"That's three nights back"

She didn't answer me. She glanced at Nathaniel dragging Stefan towards the palace and stood up straight.

"What is he going to do with him?" I grabbed her hand.

"I don't know yet" she gave me a vacant stare and tried to pull her hand away from me.

"Listen to me" i pulled her back "you're not going to do anything stupid" I hissed out low.

"Didn't you say you're going to tear through the entire pack a while back" she furrowed her brows and tilted her head.
